how old are you? i didn't get my first cell phone till I was 17 and I had a job and worked for it, and paid my own bill. Your father shouldn't have to buy you one if you really want one. Work for it and then you'll feel better about having one.

My parents were old-fashioned like that. My mom would only get me like 2 shirts and 2 pairs of jeans each new school year. I didn't get my cell phone until I was 21. You can still be pop in school without one. I know a girl who is never lonely, and she doesn't even have a cell phone! I'm sure it can be the same for a guy.

Your friend is a drug dealer and it doesn't bother you. If the cops stop you while you are driving him somewhere and find drugs, bye bye car. And maybe your freedom. What would grandmother think if you are arrested for dealing drugs? And if you are in the car when a deal goes bad, you might end up dead. 18 year old Indiana college student looking to buy heroin got shot 5 times & died in downtown Cincinnati over the weekend. Think about it. Confide in your parents so they can get Ms. Perfect help. They will need to find a treatment program before they confront her. The hubby might have a problem, too. They won't be happy about your drug dealer friend. Her behavior is that of a typical addict. Grandmother's estate will go up her nose.

I think he (father) is right to some extent as cell phone for children comes under luxury items. However, if you really need cell phone you ask your father to buy one for you but you should express your genuine needs of cell phone to your father. In this connection please consider your fatgher's financial position. If he is financially strong and in such a position to buy phone for you then it is OK. otherwise drop the idea for the present as when you earn money you will buy one for you. Be patient. cell phone is not such item without which you cannot stay . Consider that when cell phone was not available people lived here and there was no such need for cell phone as is now today. Nice to answer your question. Good Luck

are you driving yet? if so, describe some gory scene where you could have been in an accident with nobody around. in the time it takes for somebody to happen to drive by and discover your car lying in a ditch, you could be dead. BUT if you had a cell phone, you could call your parents and save your life. threatening your own life almost always works on parents. just dont actually go thru with it. and if youre not driving yet, you dont really need it unless youre walking up and down dark alleys at night.

Your Dad is right, you don't need one. Just because everyone else may have one, that doesn't mean you need one. They are expensive to have, do you plan on helping him pay for it? Or do you just want to smooch off of him and make him pay for it! I am also old fashioned, and proud of it! Kids that I raised, never even heard of cell phones, and got along just fine without one, you can too!

Tell him it will come in handy in an emergency, and that you wont tie up the phone line anymore. If that don't work, beg him. Most fathers give in to their daughters demands after some heavy pleading.

Yeah, buy your own. It's never to early to learn that the only one you can count on to get you what you want in life is YOU. =)
FYI. It can be very fun once you've embraced this, because you also realize that you can have anything you want then if you want it bad enough!

Try to have a conversation with your father. If it's not working get yourself a part-time job. Personally it's your best option.
