90% of scientists are complete athiest. only 2% are religious. The 8% are eather agnostic or deist.

Intellect versus religion has a negetive correlation. IE the higher your intelligence the less likely you will be a person of religion.

Thomas Jefferson was an Atheist.

Einstein was an agnostic

Time after time studys have proven that prayer has 0 effect whatsoever on ill patients. Actually, the original study was financed by a religious institution and rebuttled, "God does not play friviliuos games with man." haha

Richard Dawkins - The god delusion
W. W. Norton - Psychology Encyclopedia

The list could go on as these studys have shown time and time again that these statements are indeed correct.

Perhaps those who are less spiritual are more open minded or more open to subjects that are more literal. Sometimes religion limits one's desire to think outside of the box and explore other possibilities.

Read my responses if you would, and determine my intelligence level from the way I construct my responses. Note also my various websites, with special emphasis on the one which I'll make a point of listing below and see if I'm not more inclined to be a defender of the faith. It has been suggested that Jews (of which Einstein was one) are of a superior intellect and hold a great percentage of the worlds PH D's. Einstein said also that G-d does not play dice with the world (hardly an agnostic). Just a clue on my IQ, when my parents emigrated to this country and I was but between 6 and 7, I served as their translator. Let me also share that my scientific understanding is sufficient to grasp all the relevant truths I need with respect to the arguments for and against the theories of evolution. Let me challenge you to read Francis Schaeffer's "Genesis in Space and Time" and also Lee Strobel's "The Case for a Creator" where you'll find that there are more Christians in the scientific community then you would lead us to suspect.

You could conduct your own study. Post about ten thought-provoking questions not specifically directed at either group. Of these, select the responses that meet a given criteria, such as responsiveness to the actual question or evidentiary support, regardless of the opinion presented. I wouldn't use spelling nor grammar, as language differences can skew results. Of these answers, calculate the percentage of "good" answers that each group has provided. In other words, see for yourself where the intelligent answers come from. I may try this myself...

People of higher intelligence tend to question more than those with lower intelligence, which makes them much more likely to have a different worldview than their parents.

I never feel comfortable trying to support my case by appealing to the fact that "smart people agree." I'm sure there are many intelligent people who are wrong about many things, and have been throughout history. Appealing to authority - whether it be to a well-known person or to superior numbers among the intelligent - does not prove anything. Facts and reasoning are the only issues that matter.

Intelligence is an aspect of the soul which consists of the mind, emotion and will. Spiritual sensitivity is a function of the spirit which consists of intuition, conscience and communion (ability to commune with God). Those who have intelligence are more logical than spiritual and are therefore unable or less able to be spiritual. The logical person wants to know first before they believe God. But the reality is one must believe in God before one can know God. When we are born-again our spirits which are separated from God because of our sins are made alive to God by the Holy Spirit who comes to live in every Christian. God's word dictates that it is the Holy Spirit Who confirms with our spirits that we are children of God. It takes spiritual discernment and not logical deduction to know God. One cannot know God in the mind unless one has accepted God in one's spirit. Unless we are activated in our spirits by the Holy Spirit we cannot really know God. Yes, to use only our minds to find God will make us miss God.

In Anthropology, it did mention that our brain is divided into areas: for political absorption, for religious section; for mechanical... all fields. So if you tap on one area, you will project what that area absorbed. Sometimes, Religiosity is correllated to intellectualism because to study God or bible is a preposterous matter. Also a survey showed that scientist who did not believe inGod went insane. Now tell me. you be intelligent and atheist and go insane? If you are intelligent but without spirituality, that is you dont know truth (which is beauty, goodness and civility) your head will explode.

My guess would be that those who believe in the God of Abraham are stupid.
