Focal length is measured in millimeters and it is the area from the middle of the outside glass of the lens to the plane where the film (if film camera) or sensor (if digital camera) lies.

Focal Length is what type of lens you have and how near or how far it will bring your subject to you.

Focal Length is the amout of space that is between your film and the element in your lens which is furthest back (the 1st element)
