Feed your cravings. We crave salt, sweet and fat. Think about the food that you are craving and put it in one or two of those catagories, salty, sweet, fat. Then, feed yourself the salt, sweet or fat. For salt, pour out a pinch on your hand and lick it. For sugar, swallow a half a teaspoon of pure sugar off a spoon (that's only 35 calories!). For fat, spead one saltine cracker with real butter and eat. That really works. Feed the cause of the craving and you'll avoid going off the diet by eating half a bag of potato chips.

No diet will work without proper exercise. People usually get bad cravings if they are missing something in their diet. You should eat at least 3 meals per day and low fat snacks in between. If you're constantly eating right and small meals throughout the day, you'll keep your metabolism up and the exercise will burn the fat. The hardest part of any diet is the diet itself. A diet is a short term change in calorie intake that usually does not last and the end result leaves you worse off than before. It is best to change your lifestyle all together. You have to change the way you eat and think about food. Don't starve yourself or you'll have bad cravings. Low fat, high protein snacks should help with those cravings. Good Luck! =)

I get that too specially when i THINK of starting a diet.. my craving go sky high ;)
but I solved it with a herbal craving supressiant and it worked for me.. i would not even consider looking at food and if just looking at food disgusts me.. i could go all day with a simple meal and feel nothing.. and the pounds are shedding off.

you could check their site but i bought it from a friend who bought it form another country cuz the agent in my country sells it for a higher price.

depends on the food. if it's extremely contradicting of your diet, don't eat it, try something similair or drink milk. milk is good to everyone :) (except the lactose intolerant) but if it's something that, if you push your diet extensions a little, then eat it and don't stop till your full or don't have the craving anymore.

plain tortilla chips and plain popcorn are lowfat/calories
plus try to have some fruit at home, don't eat too many banana's those are not so good when on a diet, apples are good and filling, grapes are nice and ofcourse, carrots, specially the small ones those are sweet.

goodluck

MONICA,
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR.PHIL McGRAW'S BOOK, "THE ULTIMATE WEIGHT SOLUTION." I OWN THIS BOOK. IT TEACHES HOW TO MAKE CHANGES IN YOUR LIFE IN A WAY SO THAT YOU HAVE NO CRAVINGS. IT'S A VERY WELL-WRITTEN BOOK THAT'S EASY TO UNDERSTAND.
ps. the correct spelling of the word is serotonin in a previous post and it is a chemical in the brain not a 'portion' of it.
