I have a ton of experience with the Windows platform and have my computer running XP completely fine with all the latest/best updates/protection.

Is there any reason for me to switch to using a Mac/Linux OS?

Mac and Linux have much less software available and they have less viruses but that's most likely because not enough people use them to make it worthwhile. However if you want a Mac if you have the money why not just buy one and use both computers rather than choosing between one or the other. As for Linux well you could install it on the same computer and dual boot but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some idea what you're doing because when I deleted a Linux partition it left a Linux bootloader I didn't know how to work.

Macs are easy to use but they do have their limitations. There are some things you can't run on a Mac that you can with Windows, but you can get a program called Virtual PC that lets you run both the Mac OS and Windows at the same time - just make sure that you have a computer which is capable of this.
The main reason to use a Mac would be for graphic design or editing typing work. If you are only switching over for games or word processing than you best off sticking with the Windows as there are limited games on Mac and the ones you can buy tend to be more expensive.
I have used both - I have Macs at home & a Windows based laptop. I enjoy the ease of use with the Mac, but at the same time I enjoy the Windows computer cause it does allow me to do some more things, like have better access to some programs that are limited on the Mac.

Macs do not use abode windows applications/courses inspite of the indisputable fact that abode windows might want to be put in on Macs assuming the Mac helps such an set up and the perfect version of abode windows is used. Mac hardware looks to conflict with some video games. Flight Simulator is a abode windows designed sport, so i think there is no Mac version which may require you to position in abode windows on the Mac. even as the demonstrate might want to be strong i'm not fullyyt confident Mac is your perfect wager for Flight Simulator. inspite of the indisputable fact that lower than is a link for Apple's Bootcamp which permits and helps the set up of Boot Camp.

No, less programs work for mac, it's more expensive, and I had a mac and it was horribly slow. Any mac programs like imovie and garageband that mac advertises as so much better have equivalent programs on windows. The only good thing is that very few viruses are written for mac, but if you get mcafee, which comes free with most PC's you're fine.

No, unless you want a crappy video card. Macs come with like 128mb video cards and cost too much.
