Guys, I have one BIG piece of advice. If you're thinking about turning away from telling a girl you really like her because you're scared of her reaction...think again! I find it so flattering (whether I like a guy or not) when he has the guts to speak his mind. Even if a girl has never really noticed you, I guarantee you will double your chances with her if you speak your mind in a heartfelt manner.

So tell me, are most of you out there scared of rejection?

You say that you react that way, and I bet it's really flattering to you. But the fact is, most women instantly lose respect for men who do that. We can't just come right out and say that we like you. That's why lots of guys are so shy. Not only are they naturally afraid of rejection, but experience has shown them that being straightforward is not the most effective way to get things done.

I will agree with you on this: a guy will more than double his chances if he only asks girls out instead of waiting around. But to say that they should go and try to explain how they feel is asking for trouble. Good night!

Oh Cece, you really know how to press a man's buttons. But it cuts to the quick. There is nothing worse in this world than unrequited love. However, I look at it this way now--if a woman turns me down for one reason or another, I just say that it is her loss not mine.

Rejection is horrible because it is taken as a personal affront to what we are. It goes after our self-esteem and takes no prisoners.

I think that guys in general are fearful of rejection, but they would be wise to follow your counsel.

As a side note, your question and your advice cannot help but make me feel that you are both a woman of substance and beauty.

Rejection is another word for failure. Most men have a conversation at the wrong time and no matter what--they fail and feel the rejection slipping on in. Go for a man who can do more than just babble about nothing.

Um, yeah, but if you make a total fool out of yourself, the guy's going to suffer every time he's around her. I guess it's easy for the person not taking the risk to say that.

Boys were shy to ask my friends out because they thought they would reject.
