It used to be in the stomach, and very painful but that is not the case any more. Legend still exists, as always.

The shots are usually given in the arm, although in case of serious bites, the first one is sometimes injected at the site of the injury.

How many you get depends on if you actually been exposed. I do rabies testing at my work, so I got three shots over 28 days. If there was ever a lab accident that caused an exposure, I would get two more as a booster.

If you have been exposed, the sooner you start the shots the better!

Rabies photographs are available diverse strengths. they could acquire their first shot at approximately 15 weeks of age and then each year photographs after that. whilst the preliminary injection is often the only twelve months dosage, you are able to decide on the 2nd and next injections to be the three twelve months photographs. They fee somewhat greater, yet you do no longer could desire to agonize approximately secure practices for 3 years. the downside to getting the three twelve months shot is that maximum communities have rules that dogs acquire a sequence of preventive injections (distemper, hepatitis, etc.) besides to the rabies vaccination. the different sequence of injections are in simple terms accessible in a single twelve months dosages and tend to be given on the comparable time simply by fact the rabies vaccine, so which you're actually not saving your self a visit to the vet by utilising getting the three twelve months dose. additionally, numerous vets grant a kit cost on the only twelve months injections which consists of the rabies vaccine.

The dose of HRIG depends upon the weight of the person, and is generally infiltrated by needle and syringe at the site of the bite. These persons also receive five intramuscular doses of vaccine over the next 28 days. Persons who are exposed to a rabid animal but have been previously vaccinated require only two booster doses of vaccine three days apart. hope i helped:)
