It means "On ....'s side", referring to a person. Chez does not necessarily refer to "house " or "home", although the lack of an equivalent expression in English makes it hard to translate sometimes.

You must be thinking of the famous Proust novel I think that the easiest way to translate it would be "down [Swann's] way." "Du côté de chez toi" would mean "Down your way." The official translation of "Du côté de chez Swann" is "Swann's Way", but I find that misleading.

Sorry but it does not mean anything.. I think you wrote it wrong....
Du cote de(on the side of) chez(home) and it does not make sense.. If it said: du cote de chez vous... then it would mean on the side of your house
