what's the point of singling a race out like that?

God Chose Abraham because He was righteous. The nation of Israel came from Jacob, the grandson of Abraham. Jacob later changed his name to Israel.

So basically, the nation of Israel was called God's chosen people was because of God's covenant with Abraham. It was not because God is choosing a nation from a list of nations.

It was because of Abraham's obedience and friendship with God that all his descendents were blessed (that means Ismael was also blessed).

Then through a series of event... the choice narrowed down to Esau and Jacob.

And because of Prophecy has to be fulfilled... that is the younger will overtake the older and so finally Esau gave away his birth right. Abraham then blessed Jacob.

Finally, the establishment of God's covenant that is to say the promised messiah will now come from the descendents of Jacob(Israel).

Hence Isarel became God's chosen people.(Chosen to be the lineage in which the messiah would come from)

Hope this helps

The Israelites accepeted God as their only God, and that seems to have been the deal - they would be His chosen people if He was their chosen God.

As far as asking why God would single out a single race like that, from a historical perspective, that is how most tribes and cities worked at the time - each would have its own particular deity or deities. When a group was conquered they often accepted the other God, because the loss had proven to them that their God wasn't so great.

From the perspective of questioning why God would do something, I don't think you're going to make much headway there. God knows why God does what God does, although I'm sure you'll find many people who are willing to share their supposed knowledge of God's deepest secrets.

The God of Abraham searches hearts and draws near to those who want to know Him. These ancient men wanted to know Him and do His will. The rest of the world was content to carve idols and call them gods. Abraham made sure that he followed the true God of the universe. It really had nothing to do with race but a willingness on the part of the Israelites to follow the Lord.It was only fitting that the Lord set Abraham and his descendants apart as a special and chosen people. It was through these chosen people that God saw fit to send His son, Jesus. Through Jesus, the whole world of mankind may be redeemed.

Like the lady said, BUT because of Abraham's FAITH not righteousness.

He made promises to Abraham after that, and his progeny were the beneficiaries of this promises by G*d.

They are today the American, British, Australians and some European countries and others where generally thought of as white people live. Like New Zealand or South Africa, and of course Israel.

Jewish people are one of the ten tribes of Israel and are descendents along with the above people mentioned of these tribes.

The white people are often thought of as being the most beautiful. Not surprising because Abraham's wife was desirable also and his son Isaac's wife was also thought of as desirable.

The birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was fulfillment of prophecy. God chose a people in order to bring forth the savior of mankind. He would be recognized by those things that were written of him in the holy writings of that people. God has blessed the nations through the promise that he gave to Abraham as it is written in the bible.

Yes. God choose Israel as His chosen people.

2 Chronicles 6:6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

He is the Almighty God, our Creator, and it is His choice and only He knows why and I am in no position to question His authority.

Why are you trying to figure out why God did something? God is so amazingly magnificent that there is no way we could understand why He did something. Even if everyone in the world could put their brains together we all couldn't comprehend God's decisions or his greatness.

I didn't mean to come down hard on your question. Its our human nature to have a curious mind, its just my opinion....
