It's the new thing in India. At KFC's, MAC's, Domino's, music stores, phone helplines there are these young kids. They say, 'yes sir, yes ma'am' and are polite. But you ask them some info and they are blank.
At a music store I asked about an album Chicane Behind the Sun. The kid goes, you mean Shekanay, its Latin you know.
Then I was about WAP in my mobile. A kid says some rubbish, wasted my time, and asks me if I had what I wanted. Afterwards I figured it out on my own.

you shouldn't expect a sales associate to have answers to all of your questions. For +/- $6, would you go home and research everything you needed to know in anticipation of the questions customers will ask you? I didn't and I wouldn't, not unless I was really into what I was selling; in which case, I'd find some other way to make a living interacting something I enjoyed other than a minimum wage retail sales job. Often, the employees aren't dumb or lazy, its just that their pay isn't worth it.

Do not ever expect to get information from an employee of a large corporation. About 4% of the time, you will get someone that is sharp. The rest of the time you are dealing with marbles.
