I accidentally put my sons augmentin in the freezer. Is it still ok?

No, unfortunately you did in the medication when it froze. You need to replace the prescription. You need to call the doctor and have him write another prescription for you. Sorry, but liquid antibiotics can't be frozen. Getting too hot or too cold inactivates the drugs.

The recommnded procedure is to store the tablets and dry powder at or below 25°C (77°F).

If you stored augmentin suspension in the freezer and then thawed it, the resultant solution may not be equivalent in antibacterial activity to the original suspension.

There is also the probablity that after a freeze-thaw cycle of the augmentum, the antibiotic won't go back into a useable and therapeutic suspension.

Best to re-visit the pharmacy for another Rx.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

MMM--I guess if you were living in an igloo, it would be room temperature.
Is it liquid or pill. If it is liquid, you probably have a problem.

If it is a pill, I think it is ok, but call pharmacist in the morning.

i dont really know but i would wait and ask a doctor before giving it to him!!! but otherwise i wouldnt worry!!!
