im pretty shy and quiet when im around alot of people i dont really know. it seems that guys like to pick on me and see me get embarassed (well maybe not necisarily embarassed, more like uncomfortable i guess)
its a little hard to explain. do they do this because its just their personality and theyre trying to be smooth or flirts or do they just like to see girls be shy?
im confused. what do you think?

well, don't let them indimidate you. They know your shy and are tryin to break you in. As time goes on and depending on how long you know these people eventually you won't be the shy girl anymore. I don't like to pick on girls, but they are so cute when they blush....you must have a pretty smile. later

I think that you are so shy that when they try to make advances to you that you take it as teasing, when in reality they are being forward with you, only you get embarrassed when they are...
You need to have more confidence in yourself, start by dressing well, taking care of yourself so that YOU know you look good, and realize that you are as good if not better than the other girls there, when some guy comes up and is 'smart' or flirts, be smart back or flirt back, there are lots of lines, some of them really old, but they work...such as 'I bet you say that to all the girls' ...practice what you are going to say in front of a mirror or with a friend...you will get over your shyness faster than you realize. make your self busy and do not care what people do for you . If you thinking means you have more time, focus on work or studies and never think of this kind of people. They will have fun when u get embarassed. Do not be source for their fun.

Naw, it aint that.
If you're a cute girl, then its called flirting. They are just trying to feel you out and see if you're an easy target. Just play coy and don't get aggressive, if so, they'll pounce on ya and you don't want that.

it's always nice to see a shy girl being SHY... but NOT to get her embarassed!!! after all it wont be flirting if you end-up being embarassed.
plus... u r a girl... and guys DO pick on girls... so its ok. but if u dont think its ok,,, u better stop'em.

the more you read into their reactions, the more shy you might become. just keep being yourself, its what people seem to be liking, right? don't be confused because most people never have it figured out, they just act like they do

I think those guys do that because they think it is cute to see you in that situation. Chances are they like a lot and do not know how else to express themselves, or how to get you to express yourself in those social situations.

It's like when you see a puppy. You just HAVE to hug it.
I do it when I think a girl is cute, too (or just really short). It's like an involuntary reflex.
