Well, what I recommend doing is getting a really good grasp on your basic English first before you worry with the slang, because otherwise you're going to get yourself very confused. In order to do that read some good English books. Once you are comfortable with proper English and want to learn some slang/colloquial variations, look on the web. A great way to pick up every-day expressions is also by chatting online.

Urban Dictionary is a good source of slang definitions. Just be prepared for some slang that is sexual or scatalogical, as there are no censors on that website.

Slang is worthless babble. If a movie is full of it, I wouldn't watch since they cannot talk right.
