The difference in decibal level are specific to the manufacturer. You might think the 15" is louder and has more bass than 12" but there are way more factor to consider. The amp, deck, if quality (name brand) make big difference. You could use a good name brand 450 watt amp with a good name brand 10" sub and get better sound than with a cheap quality 800 watt amp with a no name 15" sub. Some good names: Paradigm, Boston Competition, Fosgate, JBL, Kickers, Pioneer, Alpine, etc.

There is definately a difference. As far as deicbal levels go it will vary on the wattage of the speakers. WIth a 15 incn sub you have the option to get a bigger magnet and higher wattage depending on the brand.

To get the bang for your buck you need to look into the amount ohms that the speaker puts out. Also the wattage at various RMS.

Yes there is a very noticable difference between the sound of 12's and 15's. 15's produce more of a deeper louder bass but dont pick up on the high tone basses. 12's are a happy medium between a 10 and 15 meaning it has a wider range of tones. 15's also lag on some bass tones meaning they sound a split second late on beats.

Yes you can tell the difference. I have 15's and have had all of the rest of the sizes but I like the 15s better than the rest.

If these are used in a car...the 12 will PUT your face against the windshield, the 15 will SMASH you through it. Be aware however that bass created by subwoofers makes one tone deaf. And music sucks after that no matter what you have.
