my boyfriend is about 5'8" and weighs about 138...for his new year's resolution he wants to gain weight...but he wants to gain it in muscle....what's the safest and healthiest way for him to achieve this goal?( i think he's perfect but i support him in everything he does unless it's harmful)

Tell him to start bustin his *** in the gym...As Ronnie Coleman says "Everyone wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody wants to lift no HEAVY *** WEIGHT!".

Really that's it. Lift a lot of weight, eat a lot, and rest a lot. There is no miracle answer here, just do the work.

Lift lots of weights and eat lots of protein.
