I know it is served warm or chilled but is it a sipping drink or a shooting drink? I'm confused by what I have seen in Japanese movies. I have seen some gulp it in one shot and others sip it.

Well, I'm a girl, so when I'm in front of guys, I typically sip it close to my lips with both hands for a 'ladylike, demure' impression. However, if I'm with the girls, I just chug it down with one hand like any guy.

I shoot it. It's smooth and delicious. But if you're not big on shots, then by all means, SIP AWAY.
