Absolutely the worst idea ever. If the relationship ends badly, you have to be around the person. It is stressful enough in the work place without adding other problems that can be avoided altogether. Always keep your workplace as professional as possible.

I say go for it! Make sure its not against company policy though. Since you don't see him super often I don't think you'll have too much trouble. My bf of nearly two years and i started out as coworkers (I got laid off in the summer because I was a temp there). I never planned on dating a coworker but there was no denying the connection and everyone around us saw and encouraged it too. For us, its become something very wonderful and we have been talking about getting married in the next few years and starting a family together. I also have a friend who is engaged and has a lovely little boy with her bf/ex coworker so there are some coworker relationships out there that are more than just a fling though that depends entirely on the people involved. Good luck!

It's a toss-up but most of the time, it is a bad idea. If things do not work out, you will have to deal with the consequence of seeing him/her everyday at work. There is also the possibility of office gossip and seeming unprofessional in your interactions with one another.
However, if you and your co-worker have a mutual interest and really want to explore further. My advice would be to mutually agree to not tell anyone at work and keep things under wraps. That way you will keep problems to a minimum if things don't work out.

Every situation is different. It's worth a shot and lots of people end up in long-term relationships or even marriage from meeting people at work. Go for it. What do you have to lose? It's better to know than never have a clue to what could have happened.

Bad idea, because if you break up, it will be so awkward. Sometimes love is worth the risk. Sometimes it isn't.

depends on if you are both mature enough to not let the relationship interfere with your job. also, if one of you are in a higher position it could be a problem.
