My first ear piercing was bad, they kept getting infected so I took them out. The holes were still there after they healed. I had them pierced again right over the holes, and they've done much better. I had no problems what so ever. Just make sure that you don't try to force earings through the closed hole yourself! Get them repierced by someone who knows what they're doing.
If they were bothering you chances are you didn't go to a clean reputatble place and they got infected. (trust me it happened to me) Going to claires or any other clothing store is a bad idea, so go to a reputable piercing place. Also make sure you clean them twice a day with whatever they give you. When you can change your earings choose ones that are hoops that have wires (no backs) and let your ears breathe. Leave them in for a few weeks. Good luck!

scar tissue is not the same as regular skin. The piercing is a bit more difficult, especially with the earring guns they use at the mall. (they work by forcing a blunt stud through your ear tissue under high pressure). They probably do not want to cause you pain and possibly disfigurement and avoid a lawsuit should something go wrong. For piercing over scar tissue, I usually suggest that the person go to a dermatologist to have it done properly with a needle.

If you are sure that you won't take the earrings out again when you shouldn't be, then having your ears pierced again might be a good idea.
If you cannot guaranteed that you can keep your earrings on for a long period of time, then you will be wasting your money again.
It looks like you have to go through all the pain again.

No it's easy My ears closed over and just a fe weeks ago I got them redone in the same spot and it was fine, I really think you should give it another go, but make sure you keep some studs in their for 6 weeks if you really don't want them to close over again. You also really need to put antiseptic on them because they're no fun when they're infected. The spray one's the best in my opinion.

My second holes partially closed and I took a stud and put it through as far as I could then took an ice cube and put it to the back of my ear and forced it the rest of the way through. If your ear is infected though you should give it a good dose of iodine to clean it up.

You can have it re-pierced again as long as it isnt too scarred. If it is scarred you won't be able to have it done. But if it isnt then its fine. Just make sure you tell the people in the place where you're having it done and they won't pierce it in exactly the same place.

You can probably push hard enough and get the earrings through, but if not... repierce them.
You will have to get them done in a different spot though, because the scar tissue has built up there. So you will be able to see the extra holes.
Is it worth it to have it done again?
