No they never fought, Rocky was the man in his time and went out in colors. Never lost a fight. Ali went out a a legend a 3 time heavyweight champion and the man who beat everyone other boxers couldn't beat. Let them stay that way.

No, Rocky Marciano's final fight was against Archie Moore in 1955, and Muhammed Ali was only 13 years old at that time. Ali's first professional fight was in 1960, after he had won the light heavyweight championship in the 1960 Olympics in Rome.
I do remember that back in the 1970's, a computerized tournament of all the heavyweight champions in history was held, and the simulated fights were broadcast on the radio as if they were really happening. The final fight was between Marciano and Ali, and a film of them recreating the fight's script was made and shown in theaters, but this wasn't a real fight, it was a rehearsed show. According to the computer, Marciano knocked out Ali in one of the late rounds.

Sugar Ray Robinson also lost like 19 fights. However Ali is ahead of him because Rocky never beat any great fighter in their prime. Should Larry Holmes be above Ali because he beat him when he was over the hill? Rocky almost lost his last fight to Archie Moore who was 38 at the time & Rocky was on the canvas in the 2nd round & KO'd Archie Moore in the late rounds He also struggled with Ezaard Charles twice. Then at the age of 32 when most fighters are in their prime he retires. Before the possibility of fighting guys like Sonny Liston. If you look at his 49 fights there is no one in their prime that you can say man Rocky beat this guy. Also Ali was stripped of 3 years of his prime for not wanting to go to Vietnam for his religious beliefs. Ali lost 3 of his 5 fights when he was 36, 38 & 39 years old. He lost to Joe Frazier & Ken Norton however those two fighters were better than anyone Rocky ever fought. If they were in the same era Ali would have destroyed Rocky, so would Joe Louis, Jack Johnson, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Sonny Liston, George Foreman, Jack Dempsey, & Evander Holyfield. With what you are saying then the 1972 Dolphins are the greatest team ever because they were the only team to go undefeated & win the SuperBowl. I think many people say the 1985 Bears were greater than that team & they had one loss. The record doesn't define the fighter if he fought no one. In Ali's era, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, Shavers, Liston, & Floyd Patterson were greater than anyone Rocky fought. Also then you are stating that if Floyd Mayweather Jr retires right now he is the greatest lightweight fighter ever. Because Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Chavez, Whittaker, etc all lost a fight or two. The list should go as follows: 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Muhammad Ali 3. Joe Louis 4. George Foreman 5. Jack Johnson 6. Jack Dempsey 7. Mike Tyson 8. Larry Holmes 9. Joe Frazier 10. Rocky Marciano

No but if they did it would have been great. Ali would have to stay away from his punching power and ring ability. Marciano was one of the best in cutting off the ring. Ali was one of the best at staying away. Pre Vietnam, Ali winner on cuts in 7. Post Vietnam, Marciano by KO in 7, sorry champ.

Marciano's last fight was against Archie Moore in 55, long before Ali started fighting.

no but ABC did a mock studio version that had both boxers in a ring in a studio with canned background noise it had clay winning on points but in real life Rock would have killed Ali. The first ropeadope would of had Rocky walking to the center of the ring and calling Ali out also when Ali tried to lean on Rock he would have hit him so hard in the elbows he would have broke Alis. Rocky would have beat Ali to a pulp

Yo, Rocky would've creamed Ali. Ali would've tried the old roper dope and hope Rocky would tire out. But Rocky would've come in with his low but powerful uppercuts and knocked the 'Greatest' draft dodger on his buttissimo.
They did both spar for a film, as was mentioned, and the stats were entered in a computer with the Rock winning.
Ali was quoted as saying the film must have been made in Alabama since the white guy won. :( Go figure.

No. Marciano had been retired for about 8 years when Cassius Clay won the title from Liston. Would have been a great fight, though.

No, two different generations. Rocky died in a plane crash before Ali was making his moves up the heavyweight ranks.
