Don't go that messy road at your young age. At this point there are a lot of things that could go wrong. I don't care if the guys lose or gain respect, I'm worried about you making this decisions at your age. Don't shoulder this burden alone, especially if your boyfriend is pressuring you to commit. Talk to your mom, I'm pretty sure she won't get mad but will understand and love you more.

If you want my advice, please abstain from having sex until you're married. That's what I did.

Depends. Sometimes after having sex with a woman, a man never wants to see her ever again. Sometimes he can become obsessed, believing that he is in love.

But you are asking about respect.. I'd say on the average, a woman loses respect for putting out, especially too soon.

16 years old is young. Too young? Ask yourself, is a 16 year old girl ready to be a mother? Always consider that possibility.

Sorry sweetie, but 16 is definately too young to be having sex. You're still a kid, and your hormones are going crazy..and trust me, sex can totally wait. I was 23 my first time, and I still have regrets about not waiting longer. If you have any doubts about whether the guy will still respect you afterwards, then he's not the right guy to have sex with. And honestly, the respect factor depends on the guy.

When you stop to think about it, there's nothing else to work for after sex. Sex is supposed to be the pinnacle of a good, strong relationship, and jumping to that causes obvious problems. Is 16 too young? I'd be a hypocrite to say yes, but think about your values and how you feel about it, then go from there. Life hasn't even started at 16, there will be plenty of time for that stuff later down the road. Hope you find this helpful!

i think 16 is too young. Will a guy lose respect? If it is too soon after you meet and start dating. You get no respect if you put out on the first date.

I would say 16 is to young. The guy will not respect you anymore and many others at school will also lose respect for you when he tells all the guys about it

yes most guys do loose respect for you if you have sex too quickly, but that is not to say all do. It depends on the guys personality and how long you two have known each other and how much you two like each other.

And no i don think 16 is too young; i was 16 and she was 14

It depends on how long it take for them to have sex with a female. If it takes 10 minutes they lose respect if it takes years and years they gain respect.

Your first time should be when you feel ready and are in love. So I've been told. I was 16 and it was not with a guy that I was in love with because I didn't want to get hurt. It was with my best friend because I loved him and was not in love with him so there was no way that he was able to hurt me. I don't know if this makes sense to you, but let me just tell you that I never regret it. I still talk to him to this day and it has not ruined our friendship at all. He was not a jerk to me and respects me very much. Don't rush your first time. Wait until the right moment and when it feels right to you.
