A person close to me keeps telling me that he will not get sick because he tells himself so. I keep hearing 'it is all in your head', not aimed towards me in particular when I am sick, but in general. Can a person keep him/herself from getting sick by their thoughts alone? Since he has started saying that about a month ago, he has not been ill whereas usually if I get sick, so does he and vice versa. Also, my oldest child truly very very rarely is sick. I cannot remember the last time he had even a runny nose. Hmmmm...

you can make yourself sick by thinking about being sick all the time. so i suppose if you think yourself healthy maybe your body will produce more of what it takes to ward off germs.

Its not ALL in your mind, but yes, you can think yourself sick or make yourself not feel well. There is definately a science to being sick~micro bacterias, etc. but there is also a thing called being a hypochondriac. This means making yourself have something wrong, like if you know someone who has the flu, all of a sudden you have to have it too but 10 times worse. People like that are just crazy.

It has not been proven, but is possible. It's calld reika (rye-ka). You tell yourself that you are getting better or you are staying healthy, you heal or , in your friends case, never get sick. My uncle has had a foot ulcer for 2+ years. This year he started trying reika, and he is making more progress healing than the last few years.
