I waited until the last minute again to buy alcohol for New Year's Eve, but I thought there was a law that said you can't purchase any alcohol before a certain time on a Sunday. Does anyone know if that's true, and if it is, what time?

In Texas you can't purchase beer before noon on Sunday. And no liquor stores are open on Sundays. Also the liquor stores are closed on New Year's Day so you can not buy any liquor this year on Sunday or Monday. Guess you will just have to wait till noon and get your beer from a local grocery store. It was last call for alcohol last night at 9p.m.

It depends on the county you're in. In my county, we can buy alcohol after noon on Sundays, but in the next county (same state), they aren't allowed to sell alcohol at all on Sunday.

it depends on what city you live in. most cities have a "beer and wine" only policy where from 2 am sunday til monday you can't buy hard liquor. BUT in my city (in louisiana) today all alcohol may be sold between 10am and 2 am! but the city next to us still has their regular no liquor sales in effect.

Depends on the State and the County.

That's really odd... I've never heard it before.

As long as the store is open I'm sure you can purchase it.

These are called "Blue Laws" and can be different in each community. Call your local store and ask them.
