FAFSA is the best place to find money for college! It will tap into need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself. The money will be based on the family income along with family resources. I will also provide some other free resources to locate money for college, but some of these items take time to hear back.

First, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships for students currently attending high school.

Second, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major will have a list of scholarships, too.

Third, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for college grants from your state. These are need based.

Fourth, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for scholarships based on ethnicity, race, religion, and college major.

Fifth, go to the local library because they have a scholarship book. It lists some scholarships that cannot be located on a website or the internet.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. A scholarship might be listed on one search website but might not be listed on another one.

Good luck!

File a FAFSA with the financial aid office of the college that you were accepted.

The military will pay for your college. At least think about it.
