Honestly, when guys say they want an "independent woman" we don't mean a strong woman who is more successful then us. What we mean is a woman who will leave us alone when we want hang out with the boys, a woman who won't nag us about things. By "independent" what guys really mean is she just be there when we need her.
You are right, alot of men are threatened strong by successful women because even in today's society its still expected the guy to be the main bread winner. Guys don't like to be told what to do by women at home, its a mucho thing.

At some point, usually when the relationship gets serious, guys do often get threatened by a woman more successful than they are. It makes them feel like less of a man. But who cares? We independent women worked hard to get where we are, and there's no sense in casting that aside for a guy's sake.

I have a theory that men say stuff like liking "indendent women" and wanting someone honest when in reality it is all just BS. They say they don't want to play games and they are the ones playing them. Some men are just very confused. I just hope there are some that really want an independent woman.

when a guy says that it means, he wants u to have a job and not just depend on his income. we get tired of the women that sit on thier butts and just blow money. they want a new house and car and etc. then after the guy does all this she leaves and after the divorice, he gets nothing for his efforts

then u would be perfect
