I have trained both my boys using a simple few sheets of toilet paper. At the start of their potty training, I would accompany them to the bathroom, crumple up some paper and throw it is asking them to then "water the flower." White tissue becomes a "beautiful daffodil" "daisy" insert your favorite flower here! On rare occasion we had pink toilet paper and it was just an ugly color, but the aim at the flower technique still worked and they always thought it was fun to see which flower this trip would be and we had fun making up "new" flower names.
Good Luck.

My son will only pee standing up too! Try using Cheerios by putting them in the toilet water and let your son aim at them! Plus, boys are more messy with toilet training so just make sure to use something easy to clean up the pee on the floor! Clorox and Lysol both come in a convenient wet cloths...almost like a baby wipe...u can find them in the cleaning section at any store!!!

Is there a father figure of some kind around? If you're not with the father, do you have your own dad or brothers that could help, or a highly trusted male friend that could, with your supervision, give the little guy some tips?
I imagine that you already have a step-stool that he can stand on, but if you don't, get him one. It might help.
If none of this helps, teach him to place his penis on the edge of the toilet instead of trying to aim while holding it in mid-air.
Hope this helps. I have absolutely no desire to ever be in your position.

Is there a big male in the house, kids learn by seeing. Dad is the one who should be working this out for you.
You shouldn't be potty training a boy, when a man can do it in one day.
You bathroom will start smelling better real soon now.

Walmart sells these little fish in the potty section that are called Lil' Piddlers. You float them in the toilet and the boy can try to sink them. I believe they are biodegradable.

Don't fret! All boys are tough to potty train. Maybe you could hang a piece of paper in the bathroom and keep track of how many piddlers he can sink. If he sinks 2 he gets a prize or something.

Good luck! Also at walmart they sell a purple box called Tadpoles...they are hand sanitizers. Maybe you could teach him that if he piddles on the floor he has to grab a wipe and clean it then toss it. Then of course wash his hands.

Oh holy cow! I so know that problem. Thankfully my son is twelve now, and has his aim right on, but it took a long time. I just gave up, and eventually he got it on his own. However, I have a friend who painted a bulls-eye in the bottom of their toilet, and told their son to aim for the center. That seemed to work for them. Best of luck to you!

Make peeing into a game. Place something in the toilet...( it sounds gross but it really does work) like a floating rubber ducky.. and tell him to aim.... it becomes fun for him to aim at the rubber duck or to knock the duck on its side by peeing on it. It sounds a little weird, but it worked for my nephew.

You can try putting Cheerios in the potty and have him aim at them. It gives him a target where you want it and maybe it will help your odor problem too.

is there a dad in the picture??? when I was teaching my son to p I sent him into the bathroom with his father when dad was going to p and told him he needed to show his son how its done. So far as i know he didn't have any problem with it after that.

some people put cheerios in and they have alot of fun trying to hit them. Others put food coloring in a drop in the bottom of the potty so that when they pee they fill the pot with blue or green or orange liquid.. that sounds pretty cool to a kid. magical aiming or turnign your pee a different color!
