Making resolutions or attempting to quit past sins or bad habits is never going to work. Bad habits or sins are symptoms of being a sinner. If your nature has been changed then you have already written what you need to do --- Let Go!

Not self denial, just gone and forgotten. If God doesn't recall past sins why should you?.

First i might ask the type you comprehend plenty approximately this concern and why you have self assurance it is so customary between JW's. you do no longer furnish any info. All i will parent is which you spend extremely some time attempting to dig up airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dirt on the Witnesses. do no longer you have extra helpful issues to do at the same time with a while? I even have on no account in my opinion trouble-free of a case related to an Elder or any Witness being a pedophile. besides the undeniable fact that i'm useful it has got here approximately, it is not a favourite prevalence. And if it does ensue, disciplinary steps are taken against the criminal. all of us know that Jehovah's Witnesses reprove and disfellowship unrepentant offenders. in certainty it isn't any doubt one in each and every of the failings we get extremely some flack for. Catholicism has come under public scrutiny for tolerating pedophile clergymen. Witnesses might on no account enable an Elder to maintain his place if he molested a toddler. And in answer on your question approximately why we affiliate with pedophiles the respond is that in the event that they are unrepentent we don't.

Forget the past and re educate your bad habits into good ones.
I never make New Year resolutions because I know my map is already drawn and what will be will be. I just try to be a better person. If i like myself I will be happy.

First, I have to re-state a scripture you have already been given:
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

They key to your question is - is it a past sin or one you are continuing with? If it is a past sin, if you have genuinely accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, then that or those sins are forgiven and to be remembered no more - they are as far as the east is from the west. Guilt is a really good tool Satan uses to remind us of those past sins. Don't allow it, don't allow Satan to speak lies to your heart.
Something I read a LOT here is people's attitude against Christianity combined with sin.
Becoming a Born Again Christian does not give us a license to go out and continue to commit every sin known to God. We must live in a constant state of repentance.
We are to live a righteous life, no we're not perfect and yes we will probably mess up every day in one way or another but once you become a genuine follower of Christ, old ways fall away and you become a new creation and you want to live to please God which means your liklihood of continuing in open blatant sin is gone or at least diminished, but it is a growth process - it will not come over night and it takes much study in God's Word and much prayer asking God to guide you and to give you strength.
Ask God with sincere prayer to convict you of anything He finds within your heart that is not pleasing to Him and ask Him to give you the strength to overcome those things.
I promise you He will.
God Bless!

I think the best way to let go of sins or bad habits is to learn from them. That or move past them. Not always easy but worth the effort, no?

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

daily death to self-will. DAILY.

Thank GOD His mercies are new every morning!

Be honest that you will never do them again. That is the best way! once you tell God that you understand what you did or said was wrong and never go back on your word all will be forgiven!

Ask God for forgiveness and REPENT (vow to try not to backslide again). Just ask for a fresh start - kind of like God giving you a new pair of nice white shoes and doing your best not to get them dirty :)

The best way is to pray and ask God to remove your characters defects, and you yourself must be ready to have them removed. Discontinue doing things you know are not right, and He will give you the strength to see it through
