Get a white noise machine/fan, play soft music or get earplugs. I went through it for a while and moving may not be an option right away. I finally got into a townhouse still a bit noisy but not over my head. Plus for me after a while I got use to it. Right now I have to play music to go to sleep because there is no one in the townhouse next to me and it a bit too quiet right now. But I don't wish for loud folks either. Good Luck, Happy New Year

I even have been extreme and occasional in residences and condos. The perspectives are continually nicer the better up you're yet then there are damaging aspects too. In a 26 floor house I lived on the 23rd floor and the construction in basic terms had 2 elevators. If somebody became shifting in they might tie up one elevator and the anticipate the different took a protracted time. My next circulate I lived on the 0.33 floor, it became plenty much less stressful get admission to to the foyer, and if I had to stroll up or down 3 flights it became no subject. of direction we ignored the large view. I now stay on the 18th floor of a house, and it has 3 elevators. The perspectives are large, however the elevator situation generally sucks. i might p.c. the home that provide you with the perfect convenience.

You can try talking to your upstairs neighbor directly and see for yourself what the reason for all the noise is. I'm sure that if you brought it up in a nice manner (something like you have a deadline and you need to work and get sleep and you don't mean to be rude and inconsiderate, but you have to ask him to be more careful about how much noise he's making), he'll tell you and possibly try to make less noise.
And if that doesn't work, move.

The landlord likes him so nothing is going to be done about it. He is rude to do it at night. You need to move. But apartment living stinks, most people are very rude and could careless if they are lousy neighbors.

Take it up with your landlord again if no satisfaction, find another place. If this is disrupting your life, it is a big deal. Having been a landlord I know that good tenants are hard to find.
Luck to you

Sounds like it's time for a new place.
Even nice guys can be jerks sometimes. Plus it sounds like your apartment isn't well sound proofed

You gotta straight up talk to him. Banging on your ceiling will only leave dents. If you confront him tactfully, chances are he'll be willing to quiet down. If you don't want to confront him, you could always just by him some inexpensive slippers and leave them wrapped up at his front door.

Move. Buy a place. Even a small one. No return on your investment.
