I`m obviously not asking this so that I can move there, but I want to write a screenplay. Please tell me everything you know about the area that you say. (crimes, people, stores, wealth, schools, entertainment, most families, ect.) Tell me anything you can.

P.s. If you can`t its not a problem, but please put a source down so I know that you`re not just making it up in your head (I had somebody do that on another question).

I live about an hour away from New York City, so I go into the city a lot, but mostly Manhattan. I`m fourteen, and I don`t think my parents would respond well if I asked them to drop me in Washington Heights or wherever the worst part is. Thats why I want this information for my screenplay. I want it to be accurate.
Please stop giving stupid answers. I mean if you`re actually living somewhere. Not the subway.

Harlem is predominatly black people. Bronx is bad news!!!Gun fire every 2 minutes. I think the best shopping & living is mid-town Manhtn. I am from the Hamptons LI but have relatives in NYC.

Bed-Stuy and the Southeast of Queens, included the Rockaways are 2 of the baddest place to live. However, crime in NYC has dropped in the last 15 years, but like in any large city, you have to keep alert. BTW: The Bronx is not a bad place to live, especially the South Bronx. For those who said the South Bronx or any part of the Bronx is bad, has never been to the borough. Good luck

well people would think harlem but actually it's getting pretty white now. there are neigborhoods in brooklyn that are just plain killings and rapings, and drug dealings, there are neighborhoods in bronx, like that too. its hard to say. its between bronx and brooklyn. but if you go to a place like florida and tell them you're from brooklyn NY people will be afraid of you. true story i was in miami i said i was from brooklyn and they were scared they started saying whether i go out at night and lock my doors aand what not. but i live in a good neighborhood. it really depends on what part of boroughs you are talking about. you have to go through police files to know exact worst crimes and schools...
