Yes, I refuse to believe that because technology is more embedded in our lives today than it was years ago, we will choose to make unhealthier decisions. Personally, I am always on the computer playing games or whatnot. But I'm not a vegetable and I know when I need to get out and exercise. In fact, I've lost 45 pounds over the last two years and I still play a ton of computer games. What I DID change about my lifestyle was to eat a lot more healthily (no soda, no candy, no chips whatsoever). I don't blame technology at all for problems like obesity in the U.S. I would blame individuals who make poor eating decisions. I understand that for many people with low incomes, the ability to eat more healthily is kind of an issue, and THAT I think is the leading cause of why we have so much obesity in our country. Not technological change. Hell, I think technological change will HELP people to become more healthy. Look at the wii , it's so fun and it gets you out of your chair :P

Technology is very wide term it could mean anything from a T.V. to laser eye surgery equipment. Technology can be good and bad depending at how you look at it. T.V.s can decrease the amount of physical activity a person receives. But if someone is in the middle of surgery and they require oxygen, would you still say technology is bad? Technology may be bad for our health but what would you rather send into a dangerous situation, a robot or a human. Technology is good and bad it, depends in the situation it is being used in.

Well, if you don't have tv what should 6.5 billion people do for their time off?
Unfortunately, with the size of the population of the planet we can't do without technology. We wouldn't be able to feed everyone, work, transport people very well and yes, placate them with tv to keep them from rioting (ever seen a soccer riot?)
I agree that we need to find a balance between technology and our lives but it has diffenately been a benefit rather then a curse

Technology advancements already are a huge force for good. Can you imagine how much nastier life would be without electronic conveniences such as cell phones, ATM's that you can use worldwide, and the Internet that you can use to find and buy goods that you would not otherwise even know exists?

Technology is definitely not ruining our lives. It is but our application of technology that is ruinous.People watching TV and computers must be aware of their limits. They should not exploit their resources.Advancement for technology is definitely good only if the application of the same is in the right and positive way.

It is not so much ruining our life... as it is running our life.
Technology is good when it is used for good.
There will always be a good side and a bad side to everything.
At the end of the day... don't blame technology... blame the people who choose to use it for evil.

soon when every single company hires robots and other machines to manufacture and sell their products, then there will be a major crisis of unemployment. humans won't be needed, therefore not too many people will get paid. if not too many people get paid, then there will be no money circulating. if nobody buys anything, then businesses will be forced to close down. then more unemployment. cycle goes on until someone figures out a out of this world solution... but i doubt it. scary isnt it?

definitely not. some are such as "nukiller" weapons or any kind of new breed of weapons are not making us happier but things like internet is helping people to communicate with each other. i am communicating with you now which would otherwise be impossible. but we should learn to use technology wisely. if we overdo it, it will definitely ruin us and we'll have ourselves to blame for that.

They cancel eachother out. With Nuclear bombs and stuff, no. But with great health revolutions, yes. It's an oxymoron.
