The Bible teaches exactly that (contrary to popular opinion). The Apostle Paul taught that all human beings are the children of God, that all are capable of knowing God and following his law, that the law of God is written on the conscience of every human being, and that all 'gods' and 'lords' are really just the same universal Deity.
The common denominator in all religions is the inculcation of moral virtue. All religions offer methods for attaining moral virtue; some just arguably work better than others. The New Testament does not teach that salvation is based on accepting a certain historical fact; it teaches that salvation is based on moral virtue, devotion to God, and pure intention.
The argument for Christianity is not that it is the only way to salvation or knowledge of God. The Christian view simply assumes that the inculcation of virtue was made possible by the incarnation, death and ressurection of Jesus, whether members of a religion understand that principle or not. The New Testament teaches that salvation is facilitated by a firm faith in the immortality of the soul, which is strengthened by an understanding of Christian doctrine coupled with a rejection of superstitious practices.

I agree! you know we were asked in a class of mone weather or not we thought world peace was possible and I was the only one of 45 that ansered yes.. they all say Im too optimistic but I really do believe so. Mayeb not in our lifetimes. why de we waste so much time fighting about stupid things liek religion. Its just a part of your individuality, if we can accept people daily for having a differnt color of hair than us or even syes.. why cant religion and culture just be a minor detail in teh greater picture of life. Im not saying put aside who you are and what you believe and become liek everyone eles but recognize that we are all people on the same planet and were born here together and there is nothign we can do about it so why make it a problem.

Oh, yes! Thanks for even asking this--I'm heartened by the positive responses. My favorite religious concept is "One river, many wells," in which nobody--not the Christians, not the atheists, not the Muslims--is wrong, we're just taking different paths to the same place.
Utuk, I wish more people believed in your brand of religion.
