Men and women are allowed to marry. So how is gays asking to be married anything special?
If you are against gay marriage, fine. Don't marry a gay person. Otherwise it is none of your business. There is no room in our laws for any ridiculous religious dogma that makes no sense.

Apparently the argument is that gay people DO have the right to marry people of the opposite sex.
Kind of like in the 30s, black people were allowed to marry other black people.

marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, thats the way the majority of america wants it to be. i dont see any particular purpose that a gay couple would want to get married since they can get the same benefits from a civil union.

Everyone deserves to be joined to their other half. Everyone deserves a life full of happiness and love that only the other can provide. Marriage is the way to join this. I agree with you. If men and women can join with their other half, why can't men and men or women and women?

100% right on. If we look at the arguments made in the past against interracial marriage, they were EXACTLY the same as the ones against same-sex marriage. Judges and others appealed to natural law, biblical references, and even the effect on children. It's easy to research this (I did it once using google and the results were startling). The idea of marriage is retarded. We should be able to love who ever we want, no matter what race, sex, or anything. All that matters is love. But those retarded conservatives think that you can only love the opposite sex.
All marriage really is, is a legal contract that allows each other to mooch off one another's assets.

gay marriege destroys the family life. gay couples can't have children and see the beauty of life.
if you look closely if there's family, there is love and life.(not that single persons don't have love in their life, but they havent had that beeing a mother\father feelings in their life and they haven't felt the happines and joy...)
