No that's not true. I struggled through the Academy(high school) and received my diploma. Then as an adult I went to college and got my degree.
I don't know where you got this idea, but you have been misinformed.
Unfortunately there are teenagers that do dropout because of personal or social problems, but most of them get their GED so they can get the jobs they need and want.
