Well, there were prophets after Malachi. Jesus was the biggest one. He prophesied about the time of the end, among other things. John was also a prophet. He recieved and wrote the prophecy that takes up the entire Book of Revelations. There are likely a number others that I cannot remember at the moment.
There are to be no things after Revelations. At the end of the book, there is actually a warning that if anyone take anything away or add anything more, they will recieve great hardship and plagues.

God was not likely silent, but we have no record of prophetic activities in that time period. But there WAS one after Malachi-- John the Baptist was a prophet and he was an Old Testament prophet-- becassue his ministry was before the lord established the New Covenant or New Testment.

The Holy Qur'an clearly affirms that God has finally completed His Divine Mission through the agency of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hence there is no room for a new prophet to carry the divine mission to completion
"O people ! Muhammad has no sons among ye men, but verily, he is the Apostle of God and the last in the line of Prophets. And God is Aware of everything." (Surah Al Ahzab: 40)
We believe that there is no prophet after Muhammad, Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him. Whoever claims prophethood after him, or believes in anyone claiming it, is a disbeliever because he is rejecting Allah, His messenger, and the Muslims' consensus.
You may need another Prophet if his teachings were distorted or lost. The originality, totality and authenticity of the Qur'an are well documented and proved to be intact. As long as the originality of the Qur'an is preserved by memory, printing, audio, video, CD-ROM, Internet, there is no need for another Prophet. The teachings of Islam are meant for all human beings. This was not true to the previous Prophets who came for a particular tribe, nation, or even for a particular era and area.after the death of the last prophet schoalrs convey the same prophet's message to all mankind and teach them the truth as i do now but you can not call us prophets

JESUS SAID
Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. 17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

there has been another one since the time of the end began, God gave us a prophet just like He has in all ages past. Problem is people dont want to know about it, because they would rather live in their sin.

There are prophets today. Heavenly Father still is saying things. Ask anyone who is Mormon and they'll tell you more in detail. Or ask the missionaries when they come to your door. Not the jehovah's witnesses, but the other guys. They are called Elders. They'll answer you.
