Why are you asking here for such an important question? If you do not know , how can you tell what is the right and true answer?
The bible and Koran teach different things.

Jesus taught a specific doctrine , it is about mercy and forgiveness. Simply stated God will not count our trespasses against us but freely offer us eternal life rather than punishment, this was accomplished thourgh Christ the God-man who gave us the victory. Now as a result of this great unmerited kindness Christians must now live lives of mercy and forgiveness even towards their enemies, because God showed us love and kindness even while we were enemies of Him and his laws.
This is really the basis for the Christian doctrine of love, because God loved us first in spite of our rebelliousness we ought to love as well, it is only just. Jesus said him who shows mercy will receive mercy.
Besides this Christianity is a spiritual religion by reason of Christs resurrection from the dead, because he has already risen from the dead, he has also overcome this whole world and death and lives on the other side with God in the spirit world. Therfore Christians have a different view of th eworld than Muslims. Muslims fight for the Holy land s and what not, land that can bring them no benefit at all, and is not really holy.
Christians believe that they are waiting for Christs kingdom to bring justice and they are to wait for it not fight for it, but turn the other cheek. This is the teaching wether they follow it or not, so the teaching is not impugned by any individuals hypocrisy.

Muslims on the other hand are a very sensual people who believe in dominion on earth, and there teaching does not prohibit fighting or killing, even Christians or Jews. Here are some verses from the Koran.

The following are quotes from the beautiful religion of Peace
One is offered to convert to islam- if one refuses they are considered the Enemy of islam and therefore to be KILLED.Christians and jews can pay protection money as a mercy from allah or else they can be killed to.

Examples from the Quaran;

The Verse Of The Sword from Al-Tawbah
Fight and slay the pagans (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them,
beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5

"Prophet, make war on unbelievers and hypocrites, and deal rigorously
with them." - Sura 9:73

"Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not
the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at
your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah
and your enemy... Prophet, (Mohammed) rouse the faithful to arms!
If they (the non-Muslims) incline to peace (accept Islam) make
peace with them." - Sura 8:59

"If they reject your judgement, know that it is Allah's wish to scourge
them for their sins." - Sura 5:49

"Believers (Muslims), take neither Jews nor Christians to be your
friends: they are friends with one another.
Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number,
and Allah does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) wrong-doers." - Sura 5:51

Sample from Jesus New Testament
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

Real Islam is not what people say or think, wether they say it is peace or they say it is war and killing with a little peace here and there. Islam is defined by the what you find in the Koran, and the example of the Prophet. The prophet of Islam whose name is Mohammed did went himself on killing sprees and raids to rob people.Did Jesus ever do that? Who is the true prophet of peace?
When compared with Jesus Christ who never did such things but condemned them because he was truly spiritual, while Mohamed was not.
Mohamed fought for the things of this world , for money, for wives, for power. Jesus let himself be killed in order to go to heaven and be with God. Who is the spiritual one?
Spirit is concerned with spirit things and does not love the things in the physical realm so much but gives them up, that is why Christ taught that Christians are pilgrims in the world and not to fight and kill. While Mohamed led in battle by example , he personally chopped peoples heads off and bragged about it later. This is not opinion, how could I dare to make that up, this is written in their books, which they now hide, because they are afraid of what pelple will think of them. What does it matter if Mohameed once in awhile said something nice and religious if he went around killing people and encouraging his followers to do the same? This is in the Koran.
He also taught that Christians and Jews were perverted and wrong religions and Islam the true right one, so that Muslims are superior to all and therefore when disagreement comes they have the right to kill them. This is in the Koran.
These things that I have written are not the only emphasis in the Koran but they are a part of it and that is why Muslim men are not averse to violence and killing. One thing for sure is that it is not the religion Jesus taught, but they have and claim Jesus taught different from the bible, so they call Jesus a prophet but that is a trick without telling you that they change all his teachings to fit the Koran which came 600 years later than Jesus.

Remeber anything any so called Christian does that is wrong , the bible is against him, but with the religion of peace when they do this wrong then they are truly following their koran. When they are peaceful they are not.

As I understand it, Islam was based on a number of earlier religious practices, including Christianity and Judaism. A main point of difference between Christianity and Islam is the question of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Those of us who are Christian believe in the divinity of Christ. While the person of Christ is regarded very highly amongst Muslims, he is not considered a divine being, merely a prophet.

One can't truly compare christianity to the faith of the muslims.
They serve to different forms of GOD. The christian has the same God as the jewish people and his name if Jesus he is the son of God and he is God. His teaching is about kindness and forgiveness and we of the faith are his servants. The muslims on the other hand serve a god of fiction that has been born over the course of the last 1400 years. This faith incorperates scripture from other scriptures such as the teachings of the jewish torah, the new testiment and the moon gods of egypt the pagan moon god of arabia ect. Were muslims look holy they promote and indorse murder as a means of expanding there faith. The main person in there faith is a man maned muhammad who was a murder and a pediofile from what we know of him also he died of a sexual sickness they call him a holy prophet. He does not come from any prophets blood line and he is not holy at all. He could not read or write yeat they claim he wrote the quran. That can't be proved there is not a 1 2 3 or 4 editions of the quran. So it is nuts folling a nutty teaching of pure dogma. Example the quran proports that it is ok to have sex with another mans wife, that it is ok to have sex with 4 legged animals, That it is ok to kill steal, the list goes on and on. Also the author of the quran seems
to be quite sick when it comes to sex and woman. A real twisted person. His logic is quite a mess. Muslims are assured of nothing in the quran but who would be supprised by that. This is the funniest book i have every read.

This is the reason behind the theological difference, (there are many more verses) this pretty explicit in its explanation. Direct from God thru Archangel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

[005:072] Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "God is the Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with God, then God has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) there are no helpers.

[005:073] Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "God is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no god (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One God). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them.

[005:074] Will they not turn with repentance to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[005:075] The Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Maryam (Mary)] was a Siddîqah [i.e. she believed in the Words of God and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while God does not eat). Look how We make the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

Christianity and Islam have more similarities than differences, in beliefs and in practices.

Both believe that Abraham is a prophet who discovered that there is only one God.

Both stress prayer as a way to communicate with God.

Both encourage their followers to give to the poor and needy (it is required in Islam to give 2 1/2%)

Both emphasize the need to submit to God's Will (Christianity: thy will be done: Lords prayer

Muslim: One who submits to God's will)

I could go on. Of course there are key differences, but not enough to stand in the way of peace between followers of these two great religious faiths.

peace

Both of them believe in one God, except Christians believe in a Trinity, and Muslims don't. Muslims have a more structured prayer life. I've met many very nice Muslims and Christians.

Both have a lot in common. Both were considered "Abrahamic" religions are are the oldest. Both claim Moses, David, Isaiah, and Jesus as there prophets. Both belive in Hell and Satan.

However the differences are few but HUGE. Christians(C) belive that God is in a Trinity which the Muslims (M) claim as blasphamy (shirk). C belives that Jesus is God incarnate, He came, died on a cross and was buried and on the 3rd day he rose again. To this, M object to. Sura 4:157 in the Quran says Jesus did not die but was "made to look like he did"

If you really want to know more, you can email me. And look at my previous questions. I really enjoy talking with Muslims.

To piggyback on the first answer, Christians believe in the same God as the Jews - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - the God of Israel. Muslims THINK they believe in the same God, but they don't cuz they will not acknowledge Isaac and Jacob (Jacob is Israel) they are hostile towards Israel - most don't even acknowledge the existence of the nation of Israel.

Christians know that vengeance belongs to God, that he will repay. Muslims get revenge themselves - I guess they have to cuz they don't pray to a god who is real- so he can't hear them, let alone avenge them.

There is much more I could say, both good and bad, about Muslims. But I won't. I did a blog series called Does Islam Worship the Same God as Jews and Christians? on my 360 page. I have a few Muslim friends, but one specifically on my friends list I met here on Answers. He called us "ignorants" and I answered his question very straightforwardly and made no apology. His question prompted me to post the blog series about Islam - and in the future I will be posting more about Islam. My friend and I respect each other as people, but we are on polar opposite ends when it comes to Israel, the bible, Y'shua, etc.

I can tell you about Islamic practises. We believe in Allah (God) and that Jesus & Mohammad (pbu'them all) and all before them are messengers of God. We dont believe Jesus was Put on the cross, it was Judith the student of Jesus. We dont eat Pig because it is a dirty animal that was allocated to eat the S**t of the other animals on Noahs Arch, when it was getting over crowded. there is heaps more to go on about, i think its best if you research it your self. goodluck.

The Common Beliefs and Values of the People of the Book with Muslims

Christian and Muslim belief have many aspects in common. Judaism too shares many beliefs with Islam. All true adherents of these three great religions:

believe that God has created the entire universe out of nothing and that He dominates all that exists with His omnipotence.

believe that God has created man and living things in a miraculous way and that man possesses a soul granted him by God.

believe that besides Jesus, Moses or Muhammad, God sent many prophets such as Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Joseph throughout history, and they love all these prophets.

believe in resurrection, Heaven and Hell and angels, and that God has created our lives with a certain destiny.
The beliefs of the People of the Book are in harmony with Muslims, not only in terms of faith-related issues, but also of moral values. Today, in a world where such immoralities as adultery, homosexuality, drug addiction and a model of egoism and self-seeking cruelty have grown widespread, the People of the Book and Muslims share the same virtues: Honor, chastity, humility, self-sacrifice, honesty, compassion, mercy and unconditional love…

--------
The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.

These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is

I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach
