So, there's this guy i'm head over heels for. The only problem is he's 9 years older than me and he's best friends with my teacher.... So, i'm legal in a couple weeks (age of consent in pa is 16), but if my family and or the teacher found out.. it would be disaster. We really care about each other which makes things so hard sometimes, especially because I want to be with him so bad but i can't. We have been good friends for a while now and so far everyone thinks we're buddies... What can i possibly do about this?

Wow you are in a tough situation. You are very smart for your age. I believe you have already answered your own question. You say "it would be disaster". It sounds like you need this relationship to stay as friends (or less). Try not seeing him so much and see how you feel. Sometimes putting in some distance can help you sort through your thoughts. Also, give yourself a chance with someone closer to your age. Remember at 21 he will be 30. When you are 21 you will really feel the age difference. You still have to experience the fun of high school proms and college life. Do you really want to take an older man to the prom? He is probably at the point in his life that he is ready for children. Can you see yourself married and with children before you are 21? Be careful and think about YOUR best interest first. Good luck!

You are not legal..that is a msiconception that if your 16 you can have sex. If your 16 and he is nine years older than you he can be charged with the following even if both of you consent.
1) 1st degree Sexual Assault
2) Unlawful Sexual assault on a child
3) Sexual Exploitation of a child
4)Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor

A child is anyone under the age of 18 NOT 16 by law.
This guy could get 15-20 years for just touching you let alone having sex- even if you both want too.
Haven't you watched Dateline-Child Predators this is all this guy is.
Know the law before you break it. By the way you could also be charged too. Don't be sooooo stupid!!

If you are only 16 then you need to forget about being with anyone. Stop trying to be a grown up, you aren't. Forget about this loser and go to the movies with your friends. There will be plenty of time for you to hook up with a loser later in life.

age of consent with another minor is 16. age of consent with an adult is 18. forget about him til you turn 18. your parents can file statutory rape charges on him----even if the sex is consentual. life will be miserable for you then.
