Tim Hortons uses a machine to make a pot of steeped tea. The process takes 3 minutes in total and the tea is fantastic.

I don't need a commercial machine, but are there home versions of these available for sale at stores?

Find a place that sells french press coffee presses, it can be done with loose tea, or find a gourmet coffee store and get what is refered to as a tea ball, were you put the tea in and put it in your tea pot, my mother has switched to brewed tea, other than that you can make it your coffee maker like Hortons does, but the residue from the coffee often taints the taste, if you can find a replacement basket or some companys have in the intructions when you buy a new coffee make a place to order parts from get one and only use it for brewing tea.

Check the local coffee sales places, Benix in Ontario, Wal-Mart, London Drugs in the west or down east at the Superstores.

No, what you can do to get steeped tea is put three (or 1 tea bag for 2 servings) tea bags in a standard sized, warmed pot and pour boiling water over top...set for three minutes...voila, steeped tea...you don't need a machine for steeped tea...just a pot, available at Canadian tire for about 8 bucks...

some people, my grandmother included, just throw a few tea bags in the coffee maker basket and pour the water through the machine...her machine has never been used for coffee

You can buy a Orange Pekoe tea that is in loose form at most supermarkets, it is from England and is labelled "Twinnings", it is in the tea area on the higher shelf, or if you have a "Bulk Barn" in yout area, they sell it also. You can make it in your coffee maker, it just is the coffee does taint the filter basket, so if you do use it wash it out as well as you can, either that or get a Tea Ball or a french press coffee pot, I use it for my steeped tea.
