What dose is the hydrocodone?
The usual adult dosage (for the 500 mg/5 mg tablet) is one or two tablets every four to six hours as needed for pain. The total 24 hour dose should not exceed 8 tablets.
The usual adult dosage (for the 650 mg/7.5 mg tablet) is one tablet every four to six hours as needed for pain. The total 24 hour dose should not exceed 5 tablets.
It sounds as though you can take a tablet every 4 hours, rather than waiting 6 hours, but do not exceed the dosage as noted above. Call the dentist in the morning and let them know that the pain med is not helping enough.
You may want to take an ibuprofen (Advil) 2 hours after your dose of hydrocodone tonight, to get you through until morning. I am not prescribing this, but just suggesting what may work.
Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat fruits, bran or whole grains, as hydrocodone can be very constipating.

Lortab and Hydrocodone are the same. Alternate hydro and Advil and see if that helps. You might want to go to a pharmacy for some topical toothace medicine. Sometimes, that helps. Hylands makes a teething tablet for children that actually helps with toothaches. I think you can get it at Walgreens and Wal-mart. All the ER would do is give you more drugs. Good luck!

Sounds like you have a drug resistance like you've done this thing more often then not. So why ask about it now? I received hydrocodine after they surg.ly removed all four of my second molars, and it worked great.
I would say go to the ER but more then likely they'll just give you more drugs to take so when you finish the lortabs this time before the dentist when getting more drugs you'll have the ER drugs to use next time.
i would say talk with a family doc as well. good luck

Your Lortab is probably expired, so do not take it. The chemical make up changes when drugs expire, so it can be dangerous. Maybe you should try those over the counter tooth pain gels wirth the hydrocordone. I am not sure you will get much empathy from the ER since they are always thinking people are just looking for pain meds. Hope you feel better soon.

Instead of going to ER, why don't you call your dentist's office? Most dentists have after-hour pager service. Have him paged.
Explain your situation and see if your dentist can call in your prescription to your pharmacy. With ER, you probably have to wait 8 hours to see a doctor and pay a huge co-pay. With your dentist's after hour pager, you'll probably pay the after-hour fee, but no 8 hour wait. You'll probably get better result with your dentist, since your problem IS dental.
Whatever you do, DO NOT take old medications especially when it comes to prescription pain medication. At minimum, call your pharmacy and get pharmacist's opinion.

Loritab and Hydrocodone are the exact same medicine. Put the Loritab are going to be ineffective because most medicines only retain their medicinal qualities for one year. Throw the Loritab out and go to the dentist

JAG,
A MUCH BETTER THING TO TAKE IS AN NSAID LIKE 800mg OF IBUPROFEN. THIS IS AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PAIN MEDICINE THAT IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE NARCOTIC MEDICINES SUCH AS HYDROCODONE (LORTAB).
