Curiosity compels me to ask, when you deliver God's judgement aren't you just using him as a tool to justify your own intolerance? Sure, sure, you keep saying "it's in the bible," but get real, what isn't? Y'all don't hate divorced and remarried people, or women who talk in church, so you really aren't using the whole bible, your using the parts of it that fit into your own agenda--Is that why you keep Christ on the cross? Is he easier to control that way?

The Roman Catholics keep Him hangin' on the cross 'cause they abide by the old ways before His death. Just go into any RC church and see all the crucifixes with a 'graven image' of Christ hanging on the cross. But do agree that many churches and even many so-called 'Christian' religions only take out certain parts of the bible that they agree or go along with and the ones they disagree with, then just secretly or nonchalantly ignore 'cause they don't agree with God on certain issues. I am a born again Christian and I agree with everything that's in the bible - not just 'certain parts or verses' of it. I'm not for divorce or homosexuality, adultery, etc. and I stick by my beliefs, which are based on God's word. I'm not going to 'pick and choose' what verses to live by and avoid the rest - no! A TRUE born again Christian abides by ALL that God says in His word - not just a few chapters or verses and turn a blind eye (or ear) to the rest. For example, many churches have women preachers on the pulpits now. The bible speaks against it (1 Timothy 2:11, 12, 13 - Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 - But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 - For Adam was first formed, then Eve. Some churches ignore that verse or misinterpret it to their own meaning and liking and they ordain women ministers anyway. Thus, they go against God's word, but yet, they claim to be Christian - Bible-abiding people. That's just one of many examples I can give you of so-called Christians, claiming to follow God's word, but they actually distort the truth to suit their own use and liking. Those who keep Christ nailed to the cross are NOT Christians - they just use that word to classify themselves as such, but are not. RCs classify themselves as Christian, but that religion is pure paganism - nothing biblical about it! My church does NOT have Christ still nailed to the cross - our cross is empty 'cause HE IS RISEN!!

I agree with Carol M all the way - Amen to what you said, Carol! :) Happy New Year!

Agreed!

We can assume (at least for a moment) that the Bible is certainly true, but even in this context it is still ambiguous and open to interpretation. You can interpret the words of the Bible to justify almost anything. The only one who would be capable of interpreting the Bible correctly is God. For this reason believers should leave it to God to carry out God's law, because men are incapable of truly understanding it.

God gets to decide. Everybody has his on interpretation of what the Scripture is saying, and exactly what God is saying to us. If 10 people read the same chapter, odds are that all 10 will come away with a different slant on it, and all 10 will think their opinion carries more weight. Therefore when we talk to others, we present our slant. This is why everybody needs to read the bible for themselves and make their own decisions as to what it means.

The Qur'an teaches us that the human race is given an innate spirituality are inherent in human existence,
but this spirituality can betray us if it is not led in the right direction. To depend on a merely human
feeling of the guiding Spirit is dangerous. Many groups, even cults, claim to be guided by the spirit or
by God or by revelation, yet these groups hold divergent, even contradictory, beliefs. We find people
behaving in contradictory ways who claim nonetheless that each is doing the will of God. "I feel," they
say, "that the spirit guides and directs me."

A credible source of revelation is imperative. Throughout history Allah has selected particular
individuals to convey His message, to receive His revelation and to exemplify it for mankind

God provides us with the purpose of our existence and if we seek to do good it is the same as seeking to do the will of God. Your belief in God only has value in so far as you live your life according to His purpose for you.

How then do we know what is the will of God? That is where religion comes in. GOD has revealed His will through prophets. To find out what this is you need to study the revelation

Great question.
Romans 2:1-6 talks about this topic.

1Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who do such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man--you who judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself--that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

So yeah. Good point.
Christians are sinners every bit as much as anybody else, and our sinful hearts are constantly trying to make us sin by putting ourselves in the place of God, passing judgment over others.

Wha......?
Okay.... I'd like to know who EVER said that the bible commanded us to HATE women who talked in church or divorced and remarried people?!?!?!?!?!????? That's ridiculous! Nowhere in the bible does it even imply anything even close to that!

That is an excellent question.

I suppose that anyone who chooses to Control the idea of Jesus Christ and also picks and chooses Bible versus to defend their ideals, could be considered to be passing God's judgment.

I'm just wondering who this question is directed towards?

1. Those who created the original images for him
2. Those who decided what interpretations and stories go into the bible
3. Those who continue to engage in the same dynamic of projection as #1 and project their own negative stuff outward and attribute to god
;) ;)

When I share the word of God with others, it is not me the messenger that is judging someone, but the word of God it's self that is convicting the heart of the sinner into feeling and acknowldeging that they did something wrong in the eyes of God. Dont shoot the messenger here.

God says.,..

Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

I am not ashamed of the word of God. I stand in complete agreement with it. Because God does not tollerate sin or cannot look upon the sinner, why should I if I support what He expects from us as one of His followers? All you are doing is persecuting God's Christians followers for obeying His word. And God has instructed us as what to do about that too.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Why do you find it so hard to stand on the word of God and obey it, and instead you find falt with the ones who do? I don't believe in divorce because God said until death do you part. Women are not to stand behind the pulpit and lead a church, that is what God was referring to in that scirpture.

I am not the one who is discecting the word of God to conform to your way of life, you are doing that with your corrupt post against God fearing Christians.

LOL...thanks for the judgement about our judgement!

We are not to judge. If asked, we go to the word. We are free from the law of divorce and even homosexuality throgh repentance and Jesus. If we do not repent its still on us.

I like to keep Christ at His best moment....the moment he literally came physically fling out of that grave!

I am sorry if a Christian has judged you, on behalf of my bretheran I apologize.

Bless you
David
