Hello. We have spent some time with this dog...and he is an absolute mushy LOVE! We have been getting acquainted with the dog, since his foster mom lives very close to us. We were told that the best guess is a pit/lab mix...but they don't know for sure. Do you agree with this, or do you see a possible other mix combination? Please let me know...I've attached his pics through these links http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f211/Gia327/zeus1.jpg

What a great looking dog! I do see pit bull and the other mix could be boxer, lab or rot tie,and any of these mixes are going to make it a great dog! I think that pit bulls and rot tie get such a bad rap and they are such great dogs I am a volunteer at our local shelter we just had a pit bull puppy in (about 1year old) and the dog was completely deaf-but they had been teaching him sign language and yes the dog has been responding to 5 different signs-now how great is that!(the dog got a new home during Thanksgiving)

Keep in mind, too, that not all dogs are "official" mixes of purebred breeds. It used to be that a majority of dogs were just plain old dogs. Purebred breeds are quite popular in these modern days, but dogs don't start off as purebreeds and then mix... sometimes you could have a plain old Brown Dog (for example) breed with a purebred and you end up with a little bit of purebred something-other-other and a little bit of good old American Dog. It's quite the misnomer to call mutts "mixed breed dogs" because not all of those dogs are really mixes... they often have had any purebred blood to begin with. Just something to consider.

sounds pretty accurate. maybe boxer? i would check and see if pits are allowed in your area, because the lack of intelligence in outlawing these breeds gives animal control the right to take your dog just for looking pit, or any mix of it. and they will do this with our without your permission. it's a beautiful dog! but could be taken for a pit or pit mix easily so just take precaution of other's opinion because animal control might be knocking on your door.

He definitely looks like he has some pit in him. I would guess boxer, american bulldog, or mastiff mix. A lot of people guess labs when they don't know what it's mixed with but I don't really see any lab in him.

he looks pit / boxer to me. I'm not seeing the lab mix as much and thats a good thing. Labs are some of the least intelligent dogs (in my opinion). Pit bulls are actually very sweet dogs if they arn't abused. I love them :)

He's a purebred Handsomemutt. Haha, seriously though, what a little ladies man! I'd adopt him in a heartbeat if we didn't have two dogs already :) Pit/boxer is my guess. Definitely some boxer in him.

I would say it is a lab/pit mix. I have seen this a lot at the vet clinic that i work at. They are very well mannered dogs. You can see the lab in him. especially in the face. you can also see the colors of a pit in his coat and you can see lab and pit in him by the way he is standing.

He is such a beautiful dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pit, lab, boxer, and/or mastiff is my guess. At least 2 of the 4. Very cute, whatever he is!

It's a mutt. Anyone who gives answers is just guessing. Unless you knew the parents you will never know. What difference does breed make as long as you are happy with the dog.
