I have a bichon frise. Sometimes when I'm lying down on the couch, she'll sit on the couch with her body laying on my tummy, she'll be staring at my face for a minute & then reach her paw up & tap me. I wonder why she does that, I'm already paying attention to her. My ex says thats her way of connecting with me.....

LOL, that sounds so sweet. I have a cat that does the same thing. He used to do it while I was sleeping. Usually it's just an attention thing, though. Even though she's laying on you, if she sees you're not looking at her, she may tap you to get your attention again.

It's either her way of wanting more attention, she's trying to be affectionate to you or she wants you to give her something like food or maybe she has to go out for a walk and go 'pottie'.

I think she's just playing. If she stares at you maybe she thinks you aren't paying attention to her. Even though you are.

that's normal in dogs. maybe she is asking for somehting at that moment and she is just showing how she cares for you at the same time. you could tap her too maybe thta's what she wants or just pet her.

My dog does that all the time its normal, they mostly do it as a sign of affection

my dog always does that.
she wants to play with you, bond with you, or get all thw attention from you.
when she does that she feels very comfotable and loves you.

She is making contact and asking to be petted. She may also be showing her "concern" for you.
