Basically, if something is a provable historical fact, how is that an "epithet or a slur"?

2006-12-30 16:19:13 · update #1

Admittedly, this fact of history is embarrassing for the Islamic religion... is that the reason Yahoo! Answers staff wanted to censor this factual and relevant information?

2006-12-30 16:20:47 · update #2

MzDeelicious- actually you are the one who didn't understand. I read the faithfreedom website and you should too in order to increase your knowledge of what you are talking about. Yes of course in modern times "Allah" is generic for God, but that is not the point. The point of this discussion is the ORIGIN of the word "Allah"... which came from a pagan moon-god named "Al-ilah"

And for how many years have you studied Arabic?

Al means the
ilah (means god - diety of worship)

Allah literally means The God, or The Diety of Worship

You can be stupid but God/Allah/Dios/Dieu/Gott will judge you

English/Arabic/Spanish/French/German
Respectively

ALL REFER TO THE ALL MIGHTY CREATOR!

[029:061] And if you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they will surely reply: "Allâh." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?

Can you prove "al-ilah" became the now used "Allah"? Can you prove they thought the moon-god to be more powerful than the sun-god - unlike almost every other set of ancient beliefs?

Yes, it is on the border of being a slur - if not already over that border. Would you call Bhudda an ex-prince wanna-be holy-man? Would you call Shiva a multi-limb-fetish doll? Whether or not it is true, it can still be worded in a more sensitive way.

And no, I am not of the Islamic faith - in fact, Islamic extremists would call me an infidel and probably not hesitate in killing me. But I do believe that all people of all faiths should be respected, even by those who disagree, or disbelieve.

ok, I don't know for sure, but here's an idea:

Allah is the one true God. The pagan Arabians however began to associate Him with the moon. And they made images of the moon. But Muhammad restored the truth about Allah - which is that He is one God, not the moon god.

There were also people who said that Jehovah had a wife, and there's archeological evidence of a picture of Jehovah with his wife. That doesn't mean that the real Jehovah had a wife, or looked like this picture people made!

So any way when did the old goat herding Hebrews learn to use the English word God for Elihu and why are you convinced that the old Hebrew and thus Christian God is a Lunar deity, because they all are worshiping the same name. Or is this just something your Christian Identity friends are telling you?
Also Ali Sina and company are not noted for accuracy. He offers his challenge but has refused every invitation to a public debate, preferring to keep the ability to edit the discussion. Many of those who have responded to that web page have been shocked to see the hack editing jobs done on their work. They consider Ali Sina to be very dishonest.

Jesus said "Allaha" almost what Muslims say "Allah"........"Allah" therefore is the Arabic word used by Arabic-speaking Christians, Muslims, and Jews as the word for God. We can hear its counterpart in the other two semitic languages -- Aramaic (Jesus called God "Allaha") and Hebrew (Ellohim). It makes no more sense to say "Muslims worship a god called Allah" than to say "The French worship a god called Dieu" or "The Spanish worship a god called Dios.",,,,,,
