Well if you truly cared for this person that you're breaking up with you'd do it in person. Doing it over email or text is so impersonal. It's basically saying i don't like you anymore and i didn't think enough of you to tell you to your face. And basically it's just plain rude!

like everyone else says.... the person being dumped would feel even more worthless through text rather in person. If its something personal I wouldn't want to say it that way (unless they are faraway or if its someone I hardly know) because they would feel that they're not worth your time, and they would often would like to know more specifically why you want to break up. It would be harder that way, but at least they can sense through your tone and your facial expressions that you are serious.

Words seem meaningless unless you say it with some sort of feeling behind it.

It is not about right or wrong, when you have made a decision to get out a relationship it is only fair to each of you that you speak in person, that way you both are eye to eye and if it is over it's over, but don't be a jerk and do it the wrong way, you both deserve that much respect.

Because it's heartless and cold? Not only shows a personal weakness in yourself in not being able to face things but begs the question why you even entered a relationship if you can't talk to the person.

Unless it's a high school romance, in which case, get a life.

Is that how you would want someone to break up with you? That is so cold. If you cared enough to be with the person then you should care enough to tell them face to face and give the reason why.

bye telling someone face too face it is more mature too do it this way. Most people beleive that the cowards way is too break up bye txt or email.

but it depends on who you are or who your breaking up with if you find it easyier too breakup bye txt message then thats up too you.just remember though one day someone may do this too you and only then will you know how it feels.when a relationship is ending it is best too be open about it when you say to someone it is over face too face they know that ur word is final when you txt them they may think theres a chance you can get back together...

this is why it is better too say its over face too face...

Its shows how low and shallow you really are and can't face anyone face to face. Someone could also get a hold of your phone and pretend to do this as a joke. So it is best to do it in person and have some humanity and be nice to the person you no longer want to have relations with.

I think people freak out a little because their opportunity to respond to the breaker is taken away. You can sit there and cuss at an e-mail but it isn't going to get its feelings hurt.

some people would rather end the relationship by talking in person, so the right emotions will be transmitted to each person, giving them a better sense of understanding.

That is rude and shows your immature and don't know how to have a mature relationship. That kind of person would walk out on their kids too. If a person is worth a papertowel to you don't interact with them ok.
