I wish we never went there in the first place! But that said what can be done now? We are like the Dutch boy with his finger in the levy. If we leave now the place will go to hell, but if we stay (and increase our troop levels, than what? More and more the analogy of Vietnam comes to mind. But from this point we must make the right move. If we leave now what will be the result? If we don't leave we will have to increase troop levels.

We should send in more troops only if they get paid as much as the private contractors and we all know that is not going to happen. There should have been more troops at first to keep the country from tearing itself apart in the first place. Iraq was like a teenager with very strict parents that went away to college and went so crazy with the taste of freedom that they self-destruct.
But seriously...NO

Not until the plan is decided, but yes eventually we will increase the number in military but not necessarily the number in Iraq. The President said he wanted to relieve some of the stress & mutilple deployments. I have not heard him say more to Iraq, but I have heard the news misquote his statement. I heard statement & know what he said.
I am too old to join but my son is an Officer in Army & his unit leaves shortly. As a Ranger, he supports the US Military plan.

No. The problem is about 20% of the Iraqis support radical Islam terrorism. Additional troops help in only a small way. We need to figure out how to change them to support democracy. But when the young men are unemployed and desperately poor that is tough. We so much more need to help them develop their economy and improve their infrastructure. Why no one seems to see that amazes me.

Yes we should, to help the troops already there. There aren't enough of them there to do the job.
