How is it?

I've read it, but even before I bought The Satanic Bible I've always favored the Satanic religion the most because it makes the most sense, instead of denying you of your natural needs, it embraces them. It doesn't discriminate again anyone whether you're white, black, asian, European, gay, straight, bisexual or whatever, it'll except you no matter what. The Bible was a big help to answer a few questions I had about the religion and I'm not even half way through it yet and it's gotten me to respect the religion a lot more then I already did. If you only think Satanism is whatever the ignorant people cowardly discribe it to be or if you're just plain courious then you should buy it and read it. If you don't like it after you try it then you don't have to keep it so it won't hurt anyone. There's a million things in the first few chapters that makes it a great bible that actually makes sense.

I've read it. As a Humanist, I believe in enjoying life, but I do not think the "worship of fleshly things" and "glorious indulgence" make the best use of the precious time we have as living beings. I don't care anything about being a rebel. I just want to live a moral, useful, and fulfilling life by contributing my verse to the powerful play.

I was given a copy once as a gag gift. At the time I was suffering from depression as a result of religious turmoil in my life and in my family. I feared gong to hell and wanted to please god, but I kept sinning, you know how that goes. After reading the Satanic bible, I realized that the guilt I felt was actually destroying me, and I was able to say to myself for the first time that I didn't even believe in god, and that all of these laws I was obeying and feeling guilty over were for nothing. I was able to come out of my depression and embrace my life for what it was.

Im getting my copy tomorrow (i've read most of it online). Im adopting a new puppy tomorrow from a shelter and theres a Borders bookstore nearby. Its only like $7, if you're open minded and want to expand your knowledge of religion, i'd sugget picking it up. The hearsay you'll hear on here will mislead you, read the Satanic bible to remove the lies idiots tell you.

Not all the way through. Have a paperback copy thats turning yellow around the edges.Think it has a bookmark from where I left off.
Don't find to much wrong with it at least as a referance book.
Try the CHAOS books next.

I did once a long time ago. It wasn't all that bad. Not like all the hype about how "evil" it is. That's generally people who just assume it must be bad, and wouldn't wont to risk themselves by actually reading it. When it comes books or ideas, I prefer to make up my own, not rely just on what others tell me.

I answered this IDENTICAL QUESTION earlier today---

YES I DID.

It is very amateurish by to days standards...there is little to learn if anything.

It kind of preaches everything that one sees on the "Teen Age Witch" film one gets on TV.

"Do as Thou Wilt! " even sounds CORNY!

Why would the satan talk in a Shakespearean English --if not to parallel the King James Version of the Bible.

Forget it.

((PS The Lavey Church is in the back of a hotel I used to stay at in San Francisco - just next to the big Chinatown Gate.))

I prefer the add on, the satanic witch, by his daughter zeena--it's basically a womans guide to getting everything she wants by using sex appeal

Pretty good, if you're already familiar with Nietzsche. I find it quite inspirational.
