Not at all. I think if you're going to do it you should at least respect the person enough to speak to them face to face. However, I don't know the girl's situation. There may be some reason why she feels she can't, maybe she is frightened of telling you for some reason, or maybe she is depressed about something else that's cropped up in her life and she hasn't told you about and she just feels she can't face it.

If I was you, I'd text her back and say that you're fine with that if that's what she wants, but tell her that you would appreciate an explanation of why she has come to this decision, at least over the phone if not face to face.

xx

Oh I'm so sorry for you Hun...what a bit.ch & after 18 months...well! you think you know some people eh?
I guess she must have had her reasons though....
You know what I would do? I'd go around her home tomorrow with a bunch of flowers or other little pressie...I'd act all natural & say "hope you haven't been trying to get through to me...my stupid phone's stopped working for some reason" then I'd watch her sqirm for a while...say "it's time I went" & just before leaving I'd turn & say "oh! by the way...I'm so sorry to land this on you this way but I have to honest....I don't want to be with you anymore, I've met this really gorgeous Girl with a body to die for & I just couldn't help myself, we ended up having sex...so it's only right that I don't come round again...I know I've been a pig but I just can't stop thinking about her now....no hard feelings eh?
....Then turn on my heels & walk away
Job done!

Are you kidding? A text break up is the worst way to end a relationship! If you do that, then there will be a heart-broken person that will be so confused because you don't explain what's going on. He/She will have so many questions that you can't answer because after you press send, you go on with your life. If you had that in mind and plan to dump someone in that way...you're making a huge mistake.

NO! Never split by text. Always face to face. It shows you can give them respect even if they don't deserve it. There is only one reason not to split face to face and that is if you are being abused.

No, not me personally, but i have been dumped by text twice, once by a guy that didn't give a s**t about me, and on tuesday by a guy that liked me too much but we couldn't be together as we live too far apart. It hurts doesn't it. I'm sorry....

nope..its alot better and more respectfull also to do in person..to split up with text just shows that the person dont have the guts to face the other in person and its really unrespectfull also ..people that do that doesnt have character

I have to tell ya....I was dumped by my fiance via text. He e-mailed me to say "it's over" What the **** right?!?!?! F**king pansy m*****f***er! We had what you call the perfect relationship in many ways....I broke off the engagement for reasons not needed to be shared here but 2 months later I got the "it's over" e-mail and 2 weeks later I got the booty call....F**K NO!

I'm ashamed to say that I have, many years ago! It was either that or have to start shouting at her cheaty cheaty self!
I figured the text would keep me a little calmer

No, I wouldn't... but I may write a letter if it was particularly heartbreaking (handwritten, at least it gives them the option to burn it or rip it up)
