I have a beagle that ios jus tover 1 year old. When they are pups just remember that they sleep alot and that they NEED to sleep alot (about 18 hours a day!) you want to train them as early as possible and be sure to crate train!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with the pups!

Crate train them. Separate crates. This is the easiest way to housetrain them and will prevent them from chewing things when you are not home and when you are sleeping. Also as soon as they have had all their puppy shots enroll them in a puppy kindergarten class. These classes are invaluable. They teach basic obedience and also help with socialization with other dogs and people. Good luck.

Wow, when will people stop giving live animals as gifts....

You need to get them into puppy preschool asap and then onto obedience class.

Beagles are scent hounds and well known for being difficult to train.

In the wild, a dog's very survival depends on a strong stable and organized pack, where every member knows its place and follows the rules established by the pack leader. The back instinct is perhaps the stronget natural motivator for a dog.
