I need a good suggestion of a strong product that won't dry my face up too much, and if it does dry it up, a moisturizer to use that's safe for my skin and won't make it break out even more. I currently use Noxzema Blackhead Cleanser daily and Neutragena On-the-spot cream on my problem spots. Any suggestions??

Go to your doctor or a dermatologist. They will reccomend the right products for your face. A good cleanser and moisturizer that is really soft on skin is Cetaphil, which can probably be found at any local drugstore. Good luck!

My daughter has really stubborn acne that comes from a hormone imbalance. Even birth control pills don't clear it up and a lot of times, this works for most girls her age. Don't go for the strong stuff unless you are advised by a dermatologist. Try something simple to keep your face clean - - like Cetaphil or Noxema cream and follow up with a mild astringent. Do this at night when you take your make-up off.

If you can afford it, you might want to try the ProActive stuff, and sometimes you can find it cheaper on ebay from people who have extra supplies. That way, you wouldn't have the auto-shipments coming every other month. ProActive didn't work for my daughter, but it does work for most people. Some say the similar products sold at Wal-mart have the same ingredients and work just as well.

Another idea would be to try the Bare Minerals make-up. Yeah, it's sort of expensive too, but it lasts a long time and it is perfect for women who have acne problems. My daughter uses this and it always looks good and makes her face look so much smoother and never oily.

Have you ever tried going to a tanning bed? I know some people don't believe it's good for your skin to use tanning beds, but if used in moderation, it does clear up acne sometimes.

well, you should go to a dermatologist and have him analyze your skin to determine what would be best for you... in the mean time you probably shouldn't mix brands. either use all noxzema or all neutragena. the different lines are made to be used with the other products from that line. the ingredients work together and when you mix two different brands you don't know what they do... they might work against each other... maybe make the acne worse by irritating it. So... just stick to one brand and if the acne is really bad just go to the dermatologist... might be a little more expensive, but i'm sure it will work. Good Luck!

Change your pillow case often. Like every 3rd day. on 2nd day flip it over to backside.

Wash hair or rinse it prior to bed.

Keep hands off your face at all times! Use a kleenex to swipe itches on your face.

Watch out to much drying skin products can back-fire and cause more breakouts.

Try Suave Natural Oatmeal hand lotion as a facial moisture. Some people can get away with a bit of Vaseline as a face moisture. Others more breakouts.

Look for an oil free, fragrant free moisture face product.

Take multivitamin with dinner each night. Buy some gelatin gel tabs too. Take with dinner. Drink water, stay away from the caffeine!

Have you tried Murad? They're a really good skin care company. You can buy a lot of their products at places like Sephora (or check murad.com). I think the best product is the acne treatment that you use in between cleansing and moisturizing - it's the "Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel" - it both treats your acne and moisturizes, but you can also add to that by cleansing with their Clarifying Cleanser, using their Clarifying Toner (followed by the moisturizing acne treatment gel), and finishing up with the Skin Perfecting Lotion (moisturizer). It's all fantastic.

There are plenty of skinny people that HAVE bad acne. And there are plenty of people who eat potato chips that DON'T have acne.
If you can't be helpful, then don't comment.
Most acne cleansers and treatments have benzoyl peroxide in them. However, using strait peroxide will DRY your skin. Maybe try some antioxidants and drink plenty of water, in combination with a good cleansing routine. Most products on the market are basically the same.

I have an acne cure that has won me the best answer three times. Each time, the person said it worked great. I'll copy and paste it below.

Use a hot compress on it, and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.

The dermatology and cosmetic salons have very advanced techniques these days. Some involve using dermatologic acids and putting your face under whats called a Blu U light , its usually very effective, and, neutragena makeup and their line of oil free moisturizer is the best for this if you must use foundation.Sounds drastic, but it doesn't hurt, and works.

Try proactive. I had zits and i used it. The three steps are pretty good. You do the deep cleanser then something to kill them. Then you do a moisturizer. It works.

its best to see a dermatologist, who can prescribe stronger medication and get the job done quicker, even with minor cases. Personally, i find cetaphil moisturizer the best - it has no oils in it (oil based moisturizer ) and so does no harm. You can get that over the counter.
