I guess I forgot to say that I am recently married, 5'5", 127 lbs., and I work out 3 times a week. My husband is 6'6" , 155 lbs (no fat at all and healthy as a dam horse. I have 6 sisters and 5 brothers and all are living in good health. My grandparents lived to be in their 90's and my parents are still living in great physical shape. Our family is so huge at thanksgiving we rent a hall for our dinner. So my husband, my 3 year old and myself have a lot of love and support from the family and it looks like we live long lives judging by our parents and grandparents. We are in great financial shape and willing to take the risk. If anything ever happened to either of us, our 3 year old and my new baby will not be alone. All of the family has made out wills in case of a bad situation. I went to the doctor and he gave us the ok. I have all the right stuff still working to get this party started. Just wanted to see what everyone thought of the idea. Thanks for your opinions.

I think it's great you are working on expanding your family. Those who don't like it are usually jealous that they don't have the fortitude and stamina you seem to have. For myself I didn't want to enter my fourties having babies so I quit in my thirties. But I have a couple of friends who have had babies past forty and have done wonderfully. I know ONE woman who was in her early fifties! It doesn't matter at what age you have the child, or how much time you have left on this earth. what matters is the quality of the time you spend with that child and I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job.

You go girl!! If this is what you want and your husband wants it and you have the financial resources and a supportive family the judgment of strangers should certainly not even be a factor in your decision.

I am 38 in April and just now contemplating starting a family now that I've finally found the right man. Age is irrelevant as long as you have love and family support behind you!

Wishing you a lifetime of love, family and happiness!

As long as the doctor gives you the okay I say go for it. You are the ones who will take care of the baby and as long as you are up to it and everything is working, baby make away. Good Luck.

Also as long as you know the risk (which you probably do) and are willing to live with those things happening. I hate when I see people giving up special needs children, because they don't want them.

Infertility can be caused by a huge number of factors: hormone imbalance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Anovulatory Cycles, physical blockage, inadequate hormone production, short luteal phase, lack of lutenizing hormone, high levels or prolactin, and many others. Poor nutrition often plays a major role, as does exposure to toxins. Age plays less of a role before menopause than was originally thought. While there are many wonderful naturally minded fertility specialists out there, in many cases it is not possible for them to test for and address any of these possible underlying issues.
