General practice docs are AWFUL with skin conditions.

Go directly to a dermatologist. Don't pass Go, don't collect $200, go DIRECTLY to a skin doc.

Unless they come out with some miracle cures, you'll be dealing with skin problems all of your life. Find a doc who works well with your skin, and make sure that he/she doesn't retire.

Make an appointment with a dermatologist. I'm assuming that since you say doctor, you've not seen a doctor specializing in skin care (dermatologist). I've got atopic dermatitis which is considered a form of eczema/dermatitis. I'm 21 and I've had this problem since I was 2. I tried every possible cream you could think of, and sometimes they would work and then my body would build a fast tolerance. Triamcinolone did absolutely nothing for me. About 3 years ago my doctor put me on Elidel, and let me tell you it was a miracle cream. It is expensive but if the pain is bad enough, and your skin is broken out enough it's completely worth it. It's non-steroidal so there are few risks associated with it. I had the dermatitis everywhere on my body, all over my trunk, my arms and legs, and I had it on my face and that was brutal.
Go see a dermatologist, and just tell him the medications that you've tried and what you may have heard. Maybe he can give you some samples of Elidel so you can decide if it works for you.

Okay, take this advice from me, eczema runs through the family. For hand eczema, you can use specialized hand lotion, I use it, it's called Eucerin. And there are certain types of doctors that help eczema, different dermatologists.
Also, my dad and I've found that just laying around in the sun in the bathing suit can actually help. We don't know why, but it does.
But, it doesn't really sound like eczema..well, I mean, it sounds like you DO..but..it sounds like you're having an alleric reaction to the medicine.
See a different skin doctor, they have different places you can go too.

A doctor who specializes in skin conditions is called a dermatologist. Have your physician give you a referral to one, so your questions can be answered. Hope this helps.

i see a dermatologist for my eczema. nothing over the counter works. there is a topical oint. they can give you that does work, unfortunately, i can't remember the name of it. if its really bad stay out of really hot showers and use mild soaps.use a hypoallergenic lotion as well until you can get in to see him.
