I understand your frustration. However, this is the Internet after all, and it really wouldn't be wise of us to expect too much.
I've seen the type of questions you are referring to. Yes, it's sad that some people believe this to be an arena where they can voice their own beliefs and opinions and then simply add a question mark at the end.
However, I still find this to be a wonderful service. I just started participating in Yahoo!Answers two days ago and I've been enjoying myself immensely. I've discovered that I can be helpful to others and also learn something myself along the way.
Hopefully we'll be able to just ignore the inane questions and move onto the more serious ones.
Best wishes!

Some questions asked on here are actually real and honest questions and others are just people venting. Others are just people trying to see if there are other people out there that like a certain actor/actress,film,music ect.
And for the best answer, to one person it may not be the best answer but to the asker it might. I try to to be biased on choosing my answer. I read every answer to the question and i usually rate down what i didn't like...just helps me out.

Well look at it this way, if a person is resistant to constructive criticism, they will never grow and become the best they can be. Yes you are right some on here are just want others to side with them, but in the long run, its hurting them not you or others that are on here trying to learn

Absolutely. There are 4 types of questions:
1. The person who actually wants help
2. The person who just wants someone to pat them on the head and agree with them (even if it's 49 people who don't agree and 1 moron who agrees)
3. The person who just wants to wreak havoc or be stupid.
4. The person who just wants to chat (How many times can they ask "What's your fav beer or What's your fav dog???)
Unfortunately, 2 is just a waste of space and frustrating to those who take the time to fomulate a great answer. 3&4 type questions, even though they clearly violate the rules, aren't removed by Yahoo! often enough. But, no system is perfect.

I agree. I think people sometimes go to things like this cause they're not getting what they want to hear from the people around them in their lives. But, even so I find myself on here every once in a while answering those peoples questions... :-)

yea, I have to agree with you. I have caught myself wanting to choose someone as a best answer because they agreed with me... I love all the input I get. It has opened my eyes to some ideas I would have never come up with on my own.

Of course. And most likely, those guilty don't do it here only. They do it with their friends, coworkers, etc. Finding someone who agrees is the easy way out. Since right isn't always easy, it isn't always popular.

Sometimes it feels good to have someone else confirm your beliefs, but remember when people do that, they are doubting themselves.
